why pay so much and a subscription fee for a single player game online

wait for another 6 months and the game will go F2P

and if you really want to play a true immersive elder scrollds game that actually is a challenge and plays different each time you can buy the TES IV and V with all expansions pretty cheap on steam no subscription fee and you can mod the hell out of those games

I've had it up to HERE with you. We GET that you bloody hate ESO with all the burning fire in Oblivion, so why in hell do you feel like you must come onto a thread about someone asking about ESO and giviing an opinion that is completely rude and irrelevant. This person clearly WANTS to play it and is thinking about buying it, because he LIKES it, so go away and head back to the other test ESO threads you whinging on.

Go play Skyrim, ignore ESO and stop hating on everyone that does and want to. Oh, and FYI, not everyone mods or wants to play immersive game!

Why are you so determined to bash on ESO at every possibe chance?

We get it. You don't like it. But you now what? That is your opinion, and that counts for nothing.

Just.. go away. Nobody wants to hear your whining about ESO anymore.

15 per month!!! thats ridiculous!!

You must be new to Pay-MMO's... WoW, WaR, KotOR and a dozen overly-generic Korean MMO's all have the same standard subscription, $15 a month. Been that way for years. F2P's follow a different model, of course, and can actually end up costing you MORE if you're a guiliable diff-cuss, but i digress...

Once upon a time, i recall talk of subscriptions for some titles being $24 a month...

Its nice to see that this is an open forum where all opinions are allowed and received with civility [/sarcasm]

people ARE allowed to dislike games, you know. Especially with the modern "buy-in AND monthly fee" system

As for the OP's question, which is the better (more economical) offer;

$60 once at your local gaming store

or

$15 a month online

or

some here are presenting as having to pay both, for a single game.

which begs the question of why? Why would any mere game be worth $75 initial buy-in and then an additional $15 a month?
