Retribution
Does anyone else experience this? Some conversations that have many npcs moving around, etc. don't lag at all, but some conversations that have nothing in them lag terribly. I meet and exceed the recommended requirements for the game. Also, there's no in-between. They're either completely smooth or badly lagging. Also, I believe it happens with specific conversations. Often, it will be one line of dialogue that lags, but when the next one happens, even though the screen hasn't changed any, it will lag. Hopefully my convoluted description of this can convey what is happening.
jwvanderbeck
Do you have any mods installed, or have you messed with the toolset at all?
Pronam
Next to that, could you also point out at which specific conversations it happens? It may have to do with the environment, or just be a general issue.
Retribution
I'm not using any mods. Also, I know it isn't the environment.
jwvanderbeck
I'm not using any mods. Also, I know it isn't the environment. And you havent' touched the toolset at all? Reason I ask is because people have noticed framerate issues in conversations after messing with the toolset.
Retribution
I haven't even downloaded it. It was like this from the first minute I played it.
jwvanderbeck
Well ok then :( Dont' know what to tell you. There was a problem with bad mods causing it, though I believe the solution has been found. I'm about to write about it. But if you have no mods and haven't touched the toolset then your issue must be different :(

Zuzaski
I have cutscene lags too. the sound will play fine, but the video will crawl @<1fps and hang. The next sound will not play until the camera finally moves, when it happens for any character for a conversation, that conversation will super lag no matter what choices I pick, companions, or how far back I load the save from. The lag is so bad that a 30 second conversation can take 10 minutes+ to end.it happened at the landsmeet on my first playthru and was solved by uninstalling all weapon and equipment DLCs.second time,@ redcliff...solved by disabling dialog sound and enabled subtitles. third time, at redcliff again edit: installing patch 1.2 seems to fix it edit: 12/19happened again @ proving fightGRRRR
MoonMe2
Yeah, I have the same problem. After 200 + hours of rock-solid, stable gameplay, and 6 or 7 characters, now I get major lag/stutter durring most dialog scenes and after some combat. No changes for weeks leading up to the problem. Repeat: No changes for weeks (at least 3) leading up to the problem. Deep Optimized defraged thinking it might be file fragmentation. Still happens. Disable audio dialog: still happens. Updated the game: still happens. Reinstalled the game with and without saving save-game files. still happens. I don't experience any problems with any other game on my comp (20 some games), no problems. Any ideas?
