Retro Chinese Stealth Armor

I personally think Op Anchorage isn\'t a half bad DLC and actually adds a bit to the fallout history, but the Chinese Stealth Armor just sticks out like a sore thumb. Its simply too modern scifi. It looks like something taken out of an anime, and not the pseudo-50s retro scifi look you\'d expect from the setting. Its not that I mind anime, just when I play Metal Gear Solid I expect it to look like Metal Gear Solid. When I play Fallout I want it to look like Fallout.

 

I\'d like to ask if any skinners would be willing to take up the task. I have a couple suggestions for it if people are interested.

 

1) the wires on the suit. Make them look like the cloth covered wires commonly used in the 1950s, as shown in the T-51b from Fallout. Also here and here

 

2) Give the armor plates the same dull, metallic appearance used on the Power and Combat armor in either black or the shade of green commonly used by communist states on their equipment. Maybe have the undersuit look like cloth. If the armor is black, green would be a good contrast, or if its green black might be a good contrast.

 

3) add some Chinese communist markings to it, like how the Winterized Power Armor has US Army markings on it. A couple red stars and meaningful Chinese characters could go a long way to making it look like a piece of mass produced military kit.

 

4) This last bit is just a bit of a wink and a nod. Put a grid like patten over the armor which uses bump maps to look raised. Something reminiscent of the body mesh used by predators of the movie of the same name. While its not entirely retro, its the kind of subtle wink and nod to existing scifi that Black Isles used to pull all the time and in no way breaks the retro styling..

 

5) Speaking of Metal Gear Solid, the third game is placed during the early 60s and as such the sneaking suit from that is extremely retro, looking extremely futuristic for the time but quaintly out dated by today\'s standards. Perfect for what the Stealth Armor should look like. Here\'s an example.

 

These are just ideas and I don\'t want to think I\'m trying to \"order\" something exact. I\'m just throwing out ideas incase anyone is interested but could use a spot of artistic direction to get them started.
