Haiiroguma
First post here, I was curious about something. How would I create a more humanoid Argonian and Kajit race for players to use? I want the new races to appear much like the Iksar and Kajit races from EverQuest. I want these chars to have a muscular humanoid build like an orc but to have lizard-like and cat-like heads and moving tails. I want this because I like these two races but Ive never felt they appeared built for the classes I liked to play them as, they seemed too scrawny appearing. The inability to wear footwear is also rather frustrating in my opinion. :( Please help if you know how this might be possible. I also hope that any information I can get on this will help in my creation of new NPC mobs as well.I understand that 3DS-Max-R3 or R4 is required which I actually have since once upon a time I was interested in CGI animations and video although Im more into regular film now :P Thank you in advanced for any posts that actually help. Haiiroguma
AHA!! I just remembered something else I forgot to put in my original post and I dont care to edit. How does one do the animations for a new 3DS-Max-R3 made PC or NPC? Is it soley dependant on the skeleton/mesh and that being directly connected to an already existing animation or does a totally new animation sequence need to be created within the 3DS-Max-R3 program? and if so, how? Thanks again! :D
DM
Making them have "bigger muscles" and whatnot requires 3DSMax, so I can't help you there... However, I can help with a couple of the other things. Allowing them to wear boots and helms is pretty simple. Under character/race, select the one you want to change and uncheck "beast race" on the edit screen. About the new animations...When you make a new race, it uses stock animations and does not need to be altered for use. You can make a race from pre-existing body parts (make sure to apply the hand1st BEFORE the rest, otherwise you could encounter problems with 1st person views) and if set up properly, it will run just fine, no further tweaking needed.
