Anyone know where i might find a gift list. Something to show what gifts go with what person or creature. Just curious thought it might help instead of wasting gifts for just +1.

:thumbsup: Could you post it, or at least provide a link? If you found it useful I'm sure everyone on the board would - I know I would.

 

To date what I've been doing is Quick-Save, give all the gifts in my pack one-by-one to a NPC and note the values I get. I then do a Quick Restore and go through the same process with the next character, and so on until all characters are done. In the end I have a fair idea of who gives the most points for any given gift in inventory. Tedious, but effective, within limits.

 

A compiled list would be MUCH better! :thanks:

Gifts for Alistair

 

Alistair has a preference for strange rune-stones and figural studies of arcane creatures. Duncan's Shield will turn into a real item, allowing Alistair or another party member to equip it. If you have Alistair using a one handed sword, he will automatically equip this shield in his other hand.

Alistair’s Mother’s Amulet This silver emblem of Andraste's Flame is riddled with cracks. Someone with a lot of patience has carefully glued it back together. Plot Desk at Castle Redcliffe (Main Floor)

Gifts for Dog

 

Dog has a preference for foods and bones, but his approval rating will always be 100% so you can boost one of your other companions' ratings with gifts originally meant for Dog. Shale generally responds better to Dog's gifts than the other companions. If you talk to the dog after giving him one of those gifts, he will usually find a good item.

 

Beef Bone A shoulder of beef, with bone attached. Normal Sacks / Chest at Ostagar or Templar’s Quarters in Circle Tower

Found Cake A slightly soggy cake. Normal Found by Dog after asking him to search in Ferelden

Lamb Bone The bone from a leg of roast lamb. Normal Chest at Castle Redcliffe (Main Floor)

Ox Bone This ox bone still has some tendon attached to it. Normal Rubble at West Brecilian Forest

Tangled Ball of Yarn A tangled ball of grey-brown woolen yarn. It is still slimy from having been in the mabari's mouth. Normal Found by Dog after asking him to search in Ferelden

Shale has a preference for the nine “remarkable” gemstones that can be found in Ferelden. However if you have given Shale 2 of Dogs gifts he doesn't respond as well to receiving the remainder of the remarkable gems saying only "So I'm to keep this am I? Fine." with only +1 approval. Although they may help, the best way to gain Shale's loyalty is through well chosen dialogue options as the approval rating for gifts drops far more quickly, it seems, than it does with your other companions.

I was just wondering, i found a Tiara by stealing a woman on the marketplace from Denerim, (notice that she didn't gave me the Tiara in normal mode but in nightmare, in normal mode she gave me gold) if i give it to Morrigan (since she likes gold) she will give me only +3 frendship but Alistar and Leliana gives me +4 any idea who prefers this Tiara as a gift? i haven't tryied on any other since they are not in my party yet.
