Stampede
Yeah, the samurai element was an awesome touch by Bethesda I thought, really added to the mystique of the orcs. Pretty original compared to popular fantasy stereotypes. Orcs are supposed to be excellent armour smiths, the best in Tamriel I think, that armour in the screenshot just looks pretty plain. edstamos1
I'm going to play devil's advocate on the Orc here. I really don't like the look of them (perhaps because I'm comparing the look to some of the head replacer mods I've seen). I find Ogrosh looks really weird. He's got a shallow brainpan ... okay, so Orcs in popular fantasy aren't the brightest peanuts in the turd... but his eyes look intelligent...analytical even. His appearance seems overly gentle, and his skin looks excessively smooth. He certainly doesn't look battle-hardened. Also, the expression on his face looks like he is about to burst into tears. mpg.planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/images/hawkey/orc.jpg Now there's an Orc. As for the Orcish armor - it isn't bad. It could use a masked helmet variant though. Spikes on the pauldrons wouldn't hurt either. I think the Argonian and Khajiit look great. I wouldn't mind seeing a large variety of skin textures on both though - ie, be able to be a red or green or blue toned Argonian, or tan/black/striped Khajiit. I'm also going to miss the beast legs (especially on the argonians). I'll definitely have a couple beast-race characters though (if I can make a rough, battle-hardened orc, I'll forgive Ogrosh's softness ^^)
FirstDagger
I read in a preview that you can change the skin colour of each race so you can Dark Elf make look like they fell I sugar or like they are burned by the sun.

Ancalagon
but wouldn't that defeat the purpose of "dark" elves? I cannot recall seeing any Dunmer who looked like they were overlooked by Azura's curse...unless they were an albino. Speaking of which, if there's an albino dunmer, what color would it's eyes be? Added, I dunno about beast chars, I'm just not that into them. For me, it's Imp's or Dunmer. Why do most people have something against the Dunmer? I mean, what's not to love about them? They're the perfect anti-hero type of race.
modernlegend
I dunno about the new looks, kind of mixed. The khajiit look really good, if they've worked in more types of fur, textures colourings etc, playing with charachter appearance should be fun, the same for the argonians, I always enjoyed messing about with these racial appearances but never got on with playing them that well, although I have no doubt that will change for oblivion. On the other side I'll miss the old samurai esque orkish armour, although I admitwhat they've designed for oblivion does look more like what I would expect of barbarians, however high quality armourers they may be, barbarians are mean't to be functional armour wise, not pretty, such is the case if you look back at the gauls. And I do have to agree with E D on the visuals of the face, I hope you can make them look, more agressive I guess and less like someones nicked the last pudding. Add a few scars, make the face more angular, that'd be an improvement, more of a warcraft ork. Speaking of which does anyone know if you can add scars? I always wanted to add one to my redguard bloke on morrowind and am hoping that my version of him on this will be able to look like he's been through the wars a bit. Dilvish
I'll bet Orcs were about the least played race in Morrowind. No one played a female orc without a face mod. They were too ugly. I'm curious to see the new Oblivion orcess look. I loves those big green womans! http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y142/Owend/Morrowind/Orcess.jpg
Stampede
Speaking of which, if there's an albino dunmer, what color would it's eyes be? Now that's a thinker. :D I kind of like the sad look of the orcs, but mainly because I love bulldogs so much, with their sad solemn faces and underbites. However no doubt the face options will allow us to create any sort of visage we want for our orcish warrior. I also agree that barbarian armour should be functional, but should it not also have some sort of intimidation factor for a little mental edge in battle? And as far as orc women in Morrowind went...by the gods their visage alone was enough to kill a man.
KzinistZerg
Which is the REAL reason the cities were so depopulated... Well i'm going for a khajiit and i haev to say that the khajiit erally looks like a goodf combination of feline and human skull.
call_me_matt
I don't think those screenshots actually do the orcs justice, they look much nicer in the videos. We may even get scars as you progress throught the game, like if you were in a particularly bad battle. If you played Fable you will know what i mean. I wonder if they will have a hairdressers too...
