lco1138
Hi folks. I'm having a problem with a LOD issue concerning terrain appearing correctly underwater. In the immediate area, it's normally OK (ie, detailed ground textures on the river/sea bed), but looking off to the distant there is a generic looking brown pattern that appears and can sometimes have no relevance to the local land mass. Here's a screenie that demonstrates. The sea bed is detailed yet there's an odd mass that goes out to sea where there is no land. Swim closer and the mass would disappear as the detailed textures load in. However, I have had occassions where this generic terrain doesn't disappear and I can swim through it to down where the real bottom is. Naturally I've tried disabling all mods, but that doesn't help. Neither has deleting any LOD textures created by TES4LODGen. I've also checked the .ini settings with the TweakGuides site, but they're all at default settings. I've a feeling its to do with a file I added somewhere to reduce the 'peppering' effect but I can't remember which one. Has anyone else had a similar problem, and how can I get rid of it, as it does obscure some ruins and things from various underwater mods. Thanks. Sorgren
I've got just the same problem, happens in deep sea most of the time, never seen it happen in shallow waters though, don't know what it is, as far as I know Oblivion is spoiled grafically just by this tiny little problem, distant lands look ugly as ass aswell and many distant ruins don't appear, LOD sucks.
