idodavni
Hi, I've been looking all over Google for OBSE for Oblivion 1.0.228, because I tried to update to 1.2.0.416, but it didn't work, but I only need it for OBSE because many good mods don't work without it. So all I need is a link for the old OBSE for the 1.0.228 version, please if anybody knows one I'd be greatful. Thnx in advance :P
carpetbulge
Here's the official archive, but don't ask me about which version: http://obse.silverlock.org/download/archive/
QQuix
I checked my archives and the oldest OBSE I have is OBSE 14, dated 2008.In its readme, it says support for 1.2 was added in OBSE 9, which I would assume, was released in 2007. Problem is: OBSE has been improved so much over the years that any mod developed after 2007 will use functions that are not present in the OBSE 8 version. In other words, even if you get a copy of OBSE 8, you will only be able to run mods developed up to 2007. Better invest your time in getting version 1.2.0.416 to work. [EDIT] There you are: the archives linked by carpetbuulge show that OBSE 8 had just a few dozen functions. Today, OBSE has about 1,500 functions. DrakeTheDragon
An OBSE version antiquated enough to work on the 1.0.228 version of the game will be lacking that many features the mods you're aiming to use which require OBSE won't even accept it as the one they need. One more thing to keep in mind. Any, and I mean every, plugin that was created in the 1.2 version of the CS (nowadays almost all out there) will just be 'silently ignored' by a pre-1.2 game version. That is there won't be any error or warning, it'll just be as if the plugin file wasn't in your data folder to begin with. Not having your game patched up to v1.2.0416 means not being able to use >80% of plugin-based mods released nowadays. The game will simply not recognize them. There's basically no way around patching your game up to 1.2.0416, if you want to be able to use more than just a tiny fraction of all mods out there. Might I ask what the trouble is exactly? What's your current game? According to Google 1.0.228 is the retail version right off the disc, no Shivering Isles or anything. What's the language version? Only patches fitting to your language version of the game will work. Is it any of the non-retail distributors' versions, like Steam (no problem), Direct2Drive, Impulse or GameStop (big problem)? Maybe this thread will provide some help: http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/170226-problem-patching-from-10228/Or did you try using OBSE's autopatcher already? It isn't 'only' for getting rid of the SI beta patch. I've never witnessed anybody unable to patch the game so far, only some having trouble in doing so but finally succeeding under proper guidance anyways.
