Mole126
So I noticed this first in Castle Cheydinhal. Whenever I would look in certain directions while in sneak mode I would get a completely black screen, out of nowhere. All textures would be gone, but my UI and such was still visible. I could move around fine, interact with objects, etc. I just couldn't see anything. After doing some research this is apparently a bug caused by Nvidia cards. I have an Nvidia 8600 GT. There were a couple different mods out there to fix this issue with the cards. I gave them a try, and none of them resolved my problem. During my search I also saw mentions of a black screen bug that comes with Deadly Reflex. I am running Deadly Reflex 5 and Oscuro's Oblivion Overhaul. I don't know if my problem is perhaps being caused by one of these mods. I also saw a mention of playing with your Interior Shadows slider to make it go away. This worked for me, so it is definitely linked to interior shadows. The only problem is, Interior Shadows has to be turned entirely off for the bug to disappear. I just can't stand seeing people walking around without even a hint of a shadow in a game of this caliber. Does anyone out there perhaps have any ideas or fixes that I might not have found on my own? I am on Windows XP, I have Shivering Isles and Knights of the Nine installed, I have installed all official patches and the unofficial Oblivion patch, I have the latest version of OBSE and use OBMM to manage my mods. SceneGG
Black Screen Sneak Fix If you enter "Black Screen" in the mod search, you will find a few fix mods for this issue. Wrye Bash even has it built in as a Bash import.
Mole126
Thanks, it works like a charm. Still, I can't help but feel a bit shafted that the only fix for this issue is dumbing down your graphics while you sneak.
