TES Construction Set Problem

Hello agin ppl

Hopefully this is my last modding problem.

I am trying to put in a NPC into the game, and everytime I enter the room I put the NPC in,

1.

The game goes black in the middle of the loading process

2.

I enter the room but it goes black a second after i'm in it

Or

3.

They just aren't there

I'm am extremely new to modding, the first NPC's I created were CM, they were supposed to be Guards just for looks, and when they came in-game they had no inventory and I had to find the equipment they were SUPPOSED to have and give it to them one by one

I need Help

This is maybe just because you created your NPCs from vanilla ones, and forgot to remove theirs Packages.

But I personally had problems with NPCs without Packages, with 0 in Aggression and 100 in Confidence (they can't flee), placed in an Interior Cell without enemies and enabled with a script.

They were not in the cell they were supposed to be, sometimes in a cell nearby, sometimes i haven't saw them at all ... And i don't know why.

Well I would create a Completely new NPC, place it in the game, and then they would be invisible, they would be there, just invisible

Edit: Going Back into the mods the NPCs I had set turn into a.... Vampire Race?

WTF

P.S

Define and tell me how to remove package

Define and tell me how to remove package

AI Package - Basic scripts that make your NPC travel somewhere or eat or sleep etc.

To remove or create new ones click on the AI button which should be visible when you are working on a NPC.

It can sometimes cause your mod to crash if the AI package is trying to do it's thing but can't because the NPC is in the wrong cell.

For example I made a mod with some dogs that had AI to make them wander outside my house but started the mod with the dogs inside the house, which kept crashing till I moved them outside the house.

  • 8 years later...

I have the same problem by making a CM NPC when i put it in a location that i'm no there
EX: i'm in a store, the NPC is outside the store, if i go out where the NPC is THERE, game crashes
i don't know if its a problem about AI or a different race (PS:my NPC has a modded race)
Yeah i know i'm supposed to make a COPY of the race and use it to advoid issues, but the strange thing is that the same race is playable
So, any ideas why TES Construction Set puts back the NPC race to Vampire Race and not saving the Mod Race?

I cannot comment on the CM Partners part, sorry, never used it myself, but this one:

Are you using an .esp file as a master for your custom NPC .esp file by any chance? For example does the custom race come with an .esp file that you are using the race from, and then saving, after which the Construction Set loses the custom race? If so, you would need to make the custom race .esp file into an .esm for the duration of your modding, and then return it back to .esp (and change the custom NPC .esp file to point at the .esp as its master) before playing with the mod. Either that, or the Construction Set Extender, which allows to use .esp files as masters without any extra work.

Hopefully that helps a bit, and hopefully someone else will be able to help you more.
