warrickbartley
Hi people just want to ask about game settings, Im playing at 600 by 800 on very high detailruns ok but stutters alittle now and than I actually thought i could go to 1024 by 768 but not sure now, my setup is old but should be able to handle this game ok my specs are pent 4 3.0 ghz, 2gigs ram, his radeon 4670 iceq 1 gig agp card , 550 watt power supply. xp service pack 3Games acted a little more jerky after i installed a few mods could that be it.You see i have only started playing this game a few days ago as i got the goty pack never played it before (great game by the way) now i have played oblivion and know it got a bit more demanding the further you want into the story, and to be honest the requirements were probably understated as well , is that the same for fallout 3 dropped back to high settings smoothed it out .but i thought i could max this game out , how did all you guys run the game on your rigs feedback please.
Bazerk83
It's probably nothing to do with your system at all. Here are my specs M/b: ASUS M4N82 Deluxe nForce 980a SLI AM3CPU: AMD Phenom II X3 720 True Triple Core 2.8GHzRAM: 4GB (2x2) Vitesta DDR2 800MHzGraphics: x2 Nvidia GEForce GTX 260PSU: BFG 800w ES-800 Quad 12v w/ 2.91 SLI supportCooling: x6 1200rpm fans.O/S: Windows 7 ProfessionalDirectX: 11HDD Capacity: x2 Samsung SATA HDDs - 1.5TB & 1TB 7200rpm My system is very new and very fast and yet even after tweaking my sytem to improve FO3 performance every which way possible (.ini editing, D3Doverrider, defrags, memory tweaking etc. etc.) I STILL get micro-stuttering when walking through the wastelands. Unfortunately, until bethesda adress this issue themselves, I honestly believe a COMPLETE remedy will never be found, and don't hold your breath on Bethesda bringing out a patch to cure it either, if they were planning to do so they would have by now. Unfortunately, due to their completely retarded and incompetent way of coding their game engine, they've royally screwed this game up with bugs, glitches and most famously, your micro-stuttering problem. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news. There are some thing you can do though to help reduce it, such as forcing triple-buffering by downloading riva-tuner and running d3doverrider. Do some researching into fallout 3 tweaks. Particularly, I and everyone else would highly recommend you read through Kouroush Gazis tweaking guide found here http://www.tweakguides.com/Fallout3_1.html Best of luck to you.
