Nude/Default Skin Switcher for certain NPCs

Hi. I'll make this short and simple. If this mod/the idea already exists, I apologize. Anyway, here's my request:

 

A mod which will keep the default nude skin for certain NPCs/Quests.

Example:I've got DIMONIZED Type3 installed for a specific mod (Chryslus Bar and Grill). I didn't mind that nudes would appear elsewhere. When I pull the armor off a dead female, exposing their nude body, I don't mind because it's somewhat-justifiable. But now when I wake up from the end of Take It Back! (beginning of Broken Steel) to find Sarah Lyons unconscious and stark-nude in the middle of the Citadel, it breaks what little immersion this game has provided me with.

 

I'm looking for a mod which either automatically changes or blacklists certain NPCs, or during certain events. I'm not looking for a "change any NPC's skin through a speech dialog menu" mod. Thank you in advance!

There aren't very many times in the game where important NPCs are completely stripped. The more direct and efficient method of accomplishing this is to simply add some clothes to the NPCs using the Geck.

 

In fact, there's already a mod that does just this for Sarah.

 

Of course, if you wanted Sarah in the default underwear specifically, then that's another issue.... One I'm not qualified to advise you on.

What you would have to do is create a different race for the nude body and the underwear body and assign them to who you want to have what. So, it you only want the girls in the Bar and Grill to have the nude body, then assign them to the race with the nude mesh, and leave everyone else as is.

 

Or even easier, you could probly just equip an outfit onto Sarah Lyons or whoever else you want to not be naked.

 

It would just take a little bit of working in the GECK, but it wouldn't be much of a problem really.

there are several ways to deal with this... most have been mentioned already

 

one is to use the body control mod which lets you choose individual body types for npcs.

but thats what you said you didn't want.

i'll post a link anyway in case someone else wants to do handle things this way.

another one would be to install a mod that does it for you, which has been mentioned already, just wanted to add that FOOK2 did that for Sarah Lyons. (i think thats what happened in my game at least, not too sure.. might have been phalanx)

 

then of course its incredibly easy to fix this yourself using the geck, the ingame console or a mod like sharing caring companions that lets you access someones inventory

(tho in case of sarah lyons the latter won't work since you can't talk to her of course)

Do you know of any other instances where a body replacement mod might produce strange circumstances? So far, it's just been Sarah Lyons.

I've completed the game, and I can't recall any other situation involving a stripped main NPC.

 

Although there was one situation with Operation Anchorage, when visiting the medical tent. If you're using a nude male plug-in, that'll be quite an eyeful... Other than that, putting some clothes on Sarah should really be all you need.

I installed the Sarah Lyons fix just fine, but now my perfectionist self is getting nitpicky about these nude bodies I've strewn across the wasteland.

 

I've got a working knowledge of the G.E.C.K. How would I go about only enabling Type3 for certain mods/the NPCs of certain mods? (I say certain because Chryslus Bar and Grill may not be the only mod with nudity I may download) Oh, and I'd like to avoid the Body Control mod if possible, for various reasons.

That will be a bit more work, but very possible.

 

First, you will want to find this mesh and texture - http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/ima...-1235274278.jpg

 

It should be in the file ADDON TYPE3clothesV3 on this page http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=4280

 

or use whatever other underwear mesh and texture you want, it really doesn't matter.

 

 

 

But anyways, once you get that, you just put that mesh in where the body replacer was, that way every person in the game will have that mesh, as opposed to the nude one.

 

 

 

Then you have to make a new race, so just copy the default race and name it something different. The only thing you want to change is that you will assign the nude mesh to this one, enstead of the underwear one.

 

Then open up the ESP for the Bar mod, and assign all of those NPCs to your custom race (and make sure to assign a couple facegen presets so the game wont crash)

 

 

 

And that should be about it I think. I have done this a few times before, but since outfit meshes override whatever body mesh you use underneath, I havn't really found much of a practical use for it, besides just changeing underwear on particular characters... and since I rarely ever strip the people I kill, I never bothered makeing a mod with it.

Hmm, so I've been experimenting off your instructions, and I'm getting the basics, but alas, I don't know how to use the GECK *that* well.

 

Here's all I'd like to do: I want to use the DIMONIZED Type3 textures and meshes for the strippers in the Chryslus Bar and Grill. I want them nowhere else.

 

I've removed all traces of Type3 from my Data folder, so I'm on a clean slate from here.
