DLC Problems

At csb, thanks for the tips but you're thinking a bit hard on it. Everything is where it should be and is installed correctly. The game runs fine. As for Pklesis, I appreciate the link, real handy but I had it disabled to begin with. However, the launch crashes are a different issue.

I think I may not have been clear in my previous posts so I'll try and recap differently. Game works perfectly (minus the wierd textured water around PL boat, but thats another post =D ), the DLC are in fine working order, can play them and beat them. Well, at least I believe so, I don't know if the guy from the Pitt is 100% needed. Only issue is the radio signals not picking up. Thats about it. Its not hardware, install location, and I doubt a driver issue.

Tried to force load as suggested, didn't work. Here is a video, I forgot to show PL problem with the guy, but I guess it will fix with the overall fix.

As you can see the game runs smoothly, the mods are in working order. Just 1 texture problem, 1 npc response problem, and 3 radio failures. Doubt the video can give anything at all, but it shows the condition. Video was taken with only the key mods, nothing more

So if I get you correctly, the DLC quests show up on the quest page, but the radio signals fail to show up. Hmm, very interesting.

I am looking at the MZ stuff, were you able to complete MZ? Did you get the objective displayed where it says, "Find a way out of the holding cell"? The reason I ask is because I'm looking at the Quest in the GECK. That objective is for stage 20 - the second stage in the MZ main quest. The first stage is stage 10 where it should enable the radio beacon and offer the objective to "Investigate the strange radio signal coming from the wasteland" I know you never got that message because its linked to the radio signal. No signal, no objective message. That initial stage is based on the enclave radio signal being active, which from your video, I could tell it is. So something in the setup script is failing, or the actual radio beacon object is somehow F'd up. The radio beacon is located under the space ship. You can tcl to see it, but don't get too close or you will get beamed up even if you are under the ground. Its a ham radio object.

When you typed in "prid 05003f1f" in the console, did you get a white text at the top of the screen that said Recon Craft Theta Radio Beacon?

Curios! If you leave vault 101 and wait for the enclave radio signal to be found, try typing these commands into the console:

stopquest 05000802 <exit the console and wait a second or two>

resetquest 05000802

prid 05003f1f

disable

startquest 05000802 <exit the console>

You will have to wait 60 seconds, but that should restart the quest from the beginning. You should get the opening objective, the Quest added message and the radio beacon. Perhaps you can make a vid of ths too and post it. I am very curios.

Also, what did you use to make your video. It was very high quality and I would like to do the same (if it didn't cost too much).

Its X-Fire, its 120% free. YOu can take screen shots, movies, and everything. It has a feature called X-Fire In-Game. Where you can set keys to picture, video, ect.. I use it because it will log how many hours of what game you play. Just because I have OCD and care about it =D.

http://www.xfire.com/downloads/ <- Thats where to get it, for the movies you'll have to have lots of space, 3 mins is about 1gb.

I'll make another movie with the attempted tips. ALthough, I have not started Zeta, so in the future if possible I would like to use a different DLC for testing. Thanks =D

Edit: http://www.xfire.com/video/1a63b5/ Here you are, now I seriuosly, serouisly want to apologize for the audio. I had Christian music playing in the background and I guess X-Fire couldn't handle the two audio inputs. I don't see how it was slowed down like that.... At all... XD Also, I kinda messed around a bit, so let me know if I did something I shouldn't have and I'll redo it.

Edit2: Watched the video and it is messed up badly, as said above let me know if a redo is in order. I think the general idea is there though, in that unholy mess.

I have to say, that music sounded more satanic, than Christian :P - no offense

So the quests aren't showing up either. Sorry about using MZ, its just that's the one I am most familair with when it comes to the form IDs and quest/script structure. But you are getting the level cap increase from Broken Steel. Last thing to try with MZ then I'll try another DLC for ya (if you still want to pursue this). I saw that when you used the prid command, it ID'd the radio beacon, so its definately in the game. But somehow the initial script is getting clobbered.

Only one console command this time.

Leave vault 101, wait 65 seconds (just to be sure) after the enclave radio signal is found then type this into the console, then exit the console.

SetStage 05000802 10

Does that make the quest message appear?

Tell me which DLC (not Broken Steel) you want me to work with from now on.

And, thanks for the link to X-Fire. I've been making 30 second FRAPS videos and then splicing them together with MS Movie Maker. So this will be an awsome addition!

Yeah, the music was slowed down horribly lol. Anyway, I believe Anchorage would be the least complex, so if you could try that one out I would appreciate it. Sorry for the late response, finals week is near =(.

It worked!!! I got the signal and everything. Kudos to you good sir lol. Now, I assume I'll just have to type the same general thing for each DLC?

Real life comes first. Glad to hear you were forgetting fallout for school.

I have subsequntly heard that sometimes OA clobbers the Enclave radio signal. All the DLC base their initial startup on whether that signal is active. IIRC, your signal was on, so I'm still not sure why all your DLCs aren't starting. Id be interested to see if disabling and then re-enabling the enclave radio beacon would start all the quests. It very late here (it actually morning) so I won't be able to research any form ID today. Give me an update, so I know your around, and I'll post back with some things to try for OA.

Happy Birthday, guess your going out drinking then...

Okay, lets start with these console commands:

prid 0002248E

disable <exit console wait a second or two>

prid 0002248E

enable

that should turn off enclave radio and turn it back on again. You have to wait a full 60+ seconds in game if this is to work.

If that does nothing, try this. It worked for me to start OA:

prid 0002248E

enable

resetquest 010009BE <OA must be listed right after Fallout3.esm in your load order>

Wait 60+ seconds. If that still doesn't work, I have one more thing to try for you tomorrow, as I have to go to bed now.

Yea, ok.

OA:

Setstage 010009BE 0 <exit console wait 65 seconds>

Setstage 010009BE 10 <exit and see what happens within 65 seconds>

About load order. If you use FOMM, then the first two digits of any form ID need to be replaced with what FOMM says. Under normal load order circumstances, it looks like this:

Fallout3.esm 00

OA 01

The Pitt 02

Broken Steel 03

PL 04

MZ 05

But if yours is different, then you must use the two digits specified in FOMM instead of the ones I use on the form IDs.

For the Pitt, use the same commands but this ID: 020010BC

For PL, dont do the stage 0 command, but use this ID: 04005846

Broken stellis working for you, so this bit is probably not needed:

Broken steel requires finishing the MQ first, so just setting the stage may not work like the rest. But its command would be this (I think):

Setstage 03000802 0

But this requires finishing the MQ and since you don't have control of your player at that opint, I'm not sure this will produce any good results.

Good luck.
