Sergio1992
By the way, I do not understand why you were scared about people showing you how modding works via teamviewer. I wouldn't.
bfg666
"ive never seen a situation where a piece of sftw can become so messed up that it forces a reinstall of the os just to be able to run without crashing." Apparently, you haven't known the good ol' days of Win95/MS-DOS... Lucky you, THAT was hell on Earth! Then again, if you did, maybe you wouldn't be pulling out your hair trying to figure this sh*t out. Seriously, you seem somewhat clueless for a so-called software engineer... As far as I'm concerned, BOSS and Wrye Bash are doing a great job sorting out this digital jungle for me and I honestly have no idea how I could possibly do without them. It's so easy I dropped OBMM only hours after installing the "magic duo." Don't worry about the .omod files, Wrye Bash can read them, I've tried. My guess is you must have a corrupt or infected file, or something. Is your copy of the game legit? And did you download your mods from here? Sometimes, torrents are a little... unsafe. Also, like MarkInMKUK said, the game IS NOT TO BE INSTALLED IN THE "PROGRAM FILES" DIRECTORY. I'm not even using Vista or 7 (this good old XP is still as reliable as ever, so why changing what works perfectly fine?) and I too had problems with my first install, but I knew what went wrong just minutes after starting to read the text files. And make sure to check the prerequisites before installing any mod. You do read the readmes, right? I know it's a bit tedious at first but it's really not that hard to get the ball running.
