livinglibrary
how come when you kill the dragon of the sacred ashes of andraste temple you get like 15 items and when you kill flameth which is like 10 times more difficult, specially in my case that morrigan is my most powerful char, it gives a robe and a gift item and that is all? (well and a dragon scale)is it because i did something wrong? or is just a design flaw?
kailieann
Because Flemeth isn't a Dragon? She's a crazy old woman who lives in a run-down hut in the middle of a swamp.Seriously, what did you expect?
livinglibrary
well i expected a proportion between difficulty and reward, despite if flemeth is a real dragon ot just a mage shapeshifted as one, the real thing is that killing flemeth is ten times more difficult, so i expected a far better reward, not a worse one
Irontoes
Dragons like to hoard loot for some reason, thats just how it goes. Since she isn't a real dragon she didn't hoard loot. I know what you mean, a hard fight should give you something cool, but we know the loot in DA is kinda lame.
livinglibrary
yeah you are right, but still, it should be proportionally lame XD
WrathOfDeadguy
Yeah, after Morrigan told me to help myself to anything else I found I was expecting there to be a bit more there. It's hard to help myself to anything I find when the items that I find are only usable by Morrigan. Would a really, really nice staff have been too much to ask? livinglibrary
yep you are right, and i also expected the big treasure after what morrigan told, but watching the result killing flemeth was not worthy of the time it takes to do it.seriously the loot is vey bad in this game and is starting to become a mayor issue; if this is because of the non linearity of the game i would have rather it to be totally linear.I like to have a challenging fight from time to time, but always with a reward after it, otherwise is no more than a way to increase the life span of the game but with no sense, besides IMO this will kill the replayability of the game. overload1977
did you ever play BG1? the loot was bad in that as well, also alot of the loot is ramdom when we get DAO2 or some addons it may give us better items maybe....
livinglibrary
dude i have played them all bg1, bg2 id1 id2 mm6 mm7 mm8 and all the expansions, but the difference is that bg1 was something new that nobody had tried before and since then roleplaying pc games have gone a long way.they could take a look at some MMORPGs or even to the diablo series as to how make loot interesting, for example the lack of exact numbers on gear description in this game is something i dislike.BTW now that you mention bg1, do you remember that you did have unlimited storage posibilities? you could only carry some items true, but you could use every empty chest armoire or barrel to keep your loot so you had unlimited storage space, something they should have kept in this game. Callisti
The reward for killing Flemeth is a story driven one, since its the pre-req for one of the endings. And honestly, did you ever trust Morrigan to do anything out of any other reason then self serving ones? :) Besides, killing Flemeth grants you a nice little sex scene in a cosy bed for a change, and that's what I call a nice reward compared to all that camp-humping with golems and dawgs drooling over you.... :D
