They don't have to have specific purposes beyond just collection/selling. I just enjoy the immersion of happening upon fun, non-vanilla stuff every now and then, instead of just another coffee mug or skill book. Examples beyond FOOK and MMM include orbe's comic mod that adds a bunch of random comic books throughout, and overmind's gold bars and coins mod.
