Game crashes when entering rivet city market place.

Every time I enter rivet city market place my game crashes. I can walk around in the rest of the ship but as soon as I enter the market place it stops loading and crashes.

 

Aside from the mods I have also change to the Lombax race today. When doing that i removed and re-added all my perk including the explorer perk.

First, you'll want to get ElminsterAU's must-have FO3Edit utility. It is an essential tool for finding and resolving mod conflicts. To learn to use it, get Miax's great FO3Edit Guide - Web-enized.

 

In addition to the previous tip, some areas like Rivet City, etc. have been known (when using some mods) to have crash problems. Save before entering those areas using a fresh save slot. Disable saving on wait, sleep and travel. (I do this by default ... but then the burden on saving my game is on me lol ... can't say how many times I've forgotten to in the "heat of the moment".) Once you leave a problematic area like Rivet City, you can re-enable saving on wait, sleep and travel. Doing this helps in two ways: first, it takes the overhead of saving out of the equation and second, it minimizes the probability of creating a corrupted save (and usually associated CTD issues when loading those saves later).

I tried to uninstall the unofficial patch but it did not help. I have also disabled the auto save and thing go a lot faster now. But the joy of believing every thing was fixed was crushed by the game crashing when trying to save my game in rivet city. Now it crashes every time I save after I fast travel.

 

I will see what I can find out about the ElminsterAU's must-have FO3Edit utility. See if it makes thing better.

That FO3Edit maual is rather large. You will want to read up on chapter 4 - Conflict Detection and Resolution. Ultimately, your goal will be to create a merged patch.

 

 

I have now made changes to the load order but without success. It still crashes when I save. How would you put up the load order?

I have the same problem... although my game is english but the entrance to littlelamplight, rivet city & megaton are all in german or something?!?!

Is your problem that you experience crashes when entering Rivet City or that many of your names are in German?

 

Either way, it is probably not the same problem Werewolf_13 experienced, so you may get better reception if you post a new topic, where you describe the problem in detail, along with a full load order (can be generated by FOMM by using Load Order->Copy to clipboard).

Yo guys - your running an older version of FOOK2 (v1.0) and this was a documented bug "crash on Rivet City Entry", I would suggest upgrading to the latest build which gets rid of a lot of other bugs as well (level up freeze, etc).

Install instructions (link 2) are painful but make sure to follow them exactly or you will have even more issues (key point being to remove all of the original esm's and esp's)
