synergy2
I'm playing a 2 handed warrior and hes fun and all but i find it completely annoying how slow the swing speed is. also you look like a dumbass trying to hold onto it by lvl 15 i apparently hadn't gotten any more skilled at holding the damn thing. i have no skills in modding or else i woulda tried it myself =/ im sure there are some people out there who would also like this done. Curious002
Uh. If you increase the weapon speed, you hopefully lower the damage correspondingly, though, except for special abilities. Otherwise Twohanded would get very fast very overpowered. IMHO Twohanded is more meant as an alternative tank style to Shield style, than as a dps mode. You can go all out on Strength, after all. Means you can easily wear massive armor. You also get typical tank stuff, like immunity to stun and knockdown. While shield style doesnt get immunity to stun at all, and knockdown only with level 12+ !
Ambaryerno
2H sword already has a drawback in the reduced defense due to the lack of shield. The attack speeds as they are are just ludicrously slow. Arms and Armor (http://social.bioware.com/project/415/) aims to address this with a number of sweeping changes, including as is most relevant to this thread: All melee weapons will have their speeds tweaked. Longswords will become a 2H intermediate between Greatswords and a new 1H Arming Sword class (it annoys me to NO END that games and books STILL don't get that right. Longswords were NOT the same as the 1H "knightly" sword. It was designed SPECIFICALLY for 2H use, with some smaller examples--and you have GOT to be kidding me. I can't even identify it without the profanity filter changing the name?!--capable of being wielded 1H if needed). Longswords will be as fast as arming swords, but with damage about halfway between arming swords and greatswords. Shield defense ratings will be increased. So yeah, your longswords and greatswords will be a lot faster, but the lost defense bonus becomes more noticeable. I just need to figure out why the game isn't seeing changes to Base Type....
