mooncarver
as stated in the topic description, i want to use frans mod with oblivion xp. is it even possible without gameplay (broken xp-lists etc.) and stability (ctd's) issues? or is it a bad idea to combine those two anyway? any advice would be greatly appreciated, since i don't want to ruin my first playthrough. Ranokoa
Although i know of quite a lot of mods, i am embarassed to say that there are certain mods out there that are absalutely popular and i know squat about, mostly because the basic concept behind them is unappealing to me (I love vanilla and rarely use mods in any number other than SMALL), so could you elaborate on what those two do and i might be able to tell you how they could interact with eachother. mooncarver
okay, sounds like a plan ;) since my english is not good enough to make sufficient explanations, i'll post some quotes from the download sites of those mods. Oblivion XP: http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=15619 This mod completely changes the default leveling system to one similar to the classic XP systems found in games such as Baldur's Gate and World of Warcraft. For example, you now gain XP for completing quests or feeding on someone as a vampire. Explore new areas, search for Artifacts or steal items to gain XP! And best of all, every setting is fully customizable through a handy .ini file! Francescos leveled creatures items mod: http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=2518 This mod changes nearly all creatures lists to provide a more static, non leveled, experience. At higher levs you will still find very strong stuff but you will often (for example) find normal skeletons and zombies in dungeons, common wolves in the wilderness and so on.. not every NPC will level up with you... some of them will have level caps.. others will be completely static... on the other hand.. at lower levs life will be much harder as, depending on where you will adventure, you will be able to meet high level enemies. Items lists were changed with the same goal, in vanilla Oblivion at say level 20 you used to find only high level armors/weapons and low-mid stuff nearly disappeared from the game, now it will be much harder to find high lev equipment, and low-mid lev one will still be common at high levs (you can also decide between 3 loot systems: normal/hardcore/extra-hardcore) so basically the games system becomes like the one in baldurs gate or neverwinter nights. enemies won't level up with you, so if you encounter a too powerfull foe (frans mod), you'll have to become stronger first by killing weaker enemies, completing quests, reading books etc. to gain certain amount of experience points. after reaching a level, you raise preferred abilites by destributing talent points (oblivion xp). mooncarver
well i'm level 5 now, using both xp and frans. i've completed a couple of quests and cleared some easy to find mines/caves. both mods seem to be working well together, at least for now.
