Hello again. i need you wisdom again. lol. i must be doing something wrong in the whole downloading and installing of the mods. :wallbash: i know its easy but i must be missing something. so here is what i have and maybe youll be able to tell me what im doing wrong. i bought the collectors edition from frys. its just the game. no add ons. no knights of the nine or shivering isles. i thought that it had it when i bought it but its been a while since i bought it so returning it is out. i dont think it has any of the patches or anything for it. not sure though. so i install the game. and it works just fine. from there on im kinda lost. i got the oblivion mod manager. where do i go from here. i know its easy for you guys to just do it but a very simple step by step guide would help a lot.

im a computer tech but i cant figure this out. embarrassing... so again. a simple step by step guide on what to download in what order would make me love you. at least id say thanks... but as i said i dont know if i need any of the expansions like shivering isles. i know some say that you need them but not all. and should i go get the goty edition with the official patches built in. help please!!!

You don't say what mods you are trying to install.

If you need a refresher I have a set of help files for people who are not computer geeks and are new to mods. They include downloading, extracting (unzipping) installing and activating mods. I have included a simple mod to practice on and instructions for installing and using 7-zip. If you are interested, click on the highlighted link below to be taken to the site where they are kept. I recommend starting with #1 and working your way through them.

If you use them I would appreciate some feedback as to what needs improvement and what works for you.

Many mods require either the latest patch or OBSE to work.
