Kaywillow79 Posted December 6, 2009 Share Posted December 6, 2009 Ok, not really sure how this happened. I have my female elf mage, Oghren, Zevran, & Sten rescuing the queen. We meet up w/ Erlina (handmaiden/servant) and she gives us the guard disguises. no biggie here. Doing my thing, waltzing through the estate, head to the basement/dungeon door. So here is (I think at least) where things got weird. After finding & talking to Riordan, I head to the dungeon and once it loads & I open the door, I'm attacked on sight. No guard conversations like "What're you doing here?" or "Password"- nada. Now on my other chars (female elf warrio & female human rogue) I do the same thing and a guard starts some dialogue with me, THEN the fighting starts. Run through the rest of the dungeon, head back upstairs, talk to Anora, then head out to bump into Cauthrien. Now here's where the annoyance sets in. Whether I fight my way out, give up & get arrested, wait for my rescue team or fight my way out from the fort, I can't get the guard disguise off. When I hover over the slots in the inventory window, the description says in red letters "Cannot be unequipped- indestructible". I can't destroy it, I can't click-drag it off, and I can't equip my robes or other equipment. Same goes for the team that went in with me. And all the armor we had on before the disguises have disappeared to boot! Nowhere in the inventory! Grrrr.... I know you can talk to Erlina up to a certain point and tell her we don't need the disguises anymore, but I don't even get that option. I haven't done any modding on my own- couldn't tell you where to even start. I've added only a few armor & weapon DLCs with no problems with them on any other char. Balagor Posted December 6, 2009 Share Posted December 6, 2009 If any mods inst. or even authorhized expansions from Bioware, you should try to remove them. Then start the game and see if you can remove your disguise. IF you can, make a new saving, and them add mods/expansions one by one to see which one is causing the troubles.If it does`nt help i´m afraid you need to reinstall, and after reinstall, make the same procedure. If this is what has happened it seems like the fastest way to get your armour back would be to reload before this encounter and trigger the dialog. If this isn't what happened please let us know. I ended up reloading last night to a previous save; unfortunately, I use quick save alot and not so much with a hard save, so I lost about 3 hrs of work, but oh well. :) Checked out the link- thanks M85M!- saw others had the same issue, and the console command worked for me (from the first page on that link). And thanks to you too, Balagor! I did take all my mods/DLC off and tried again, to no avail. I had to reinstall the game earlier yesterday (before the armor issue) due to a "toddler hacking- I don't know Mommy" problem, lol!
