Sigh. Malchik never answered my question about spells. :( Well...in the mean, time, I'll head over to the Alit and get into my role.

The door slammed shut as Ara walked steadily to the bar. She sat down without a word.

"Black Anthar ale please"

Looking at the three men staring at her she stared right back.

"What are you looking at? And why is that man crying?"

I am getting very confused here. You want to role play your own thread please feel free. You want to be in mine you have to wait until I'm ready to start and that depends upon my real life schedule. And that wont be before Thursday. I'll take the first 16 but I'm not even starting to look until tomorrow.

You want blood - mine is cold!

Kheskeim Valantius

Bashkherian Male aged 20

Athletic on the lean side, tall, short dark hair, brownish skin, dark green eyes.

Occupation: nobleman

Skills: Swords, fencing, battle/war-tactics, diplomacy, organisation, poetry, riding

Traits:

+ Speaks somewhat eloquently (if he wants to), has knowledge of many things and learn quickly. Has a bit of honour.

- Is used to being lionized. Impolite to most people, especially those of lower class. Self-centrered, lazy and lecherous.

Short back-story:

Kheskeim Valantius is the youngest son of one of the higher circle noblemen in Bashkher. Born with armiger status and raised on the wing of plenteousness, he has always been the laziest, most unwilling and less honourable of the four sons and one daughter that constituted the offspring of Lord and Lady Valantius. Only by his parent’s rigorous demands and will has he unwillingly learned what a nobleman of his kind should master. He has hated many people through his young life; most of them have been teachers and trainers, who were given almost full freedom to teach him what was needed, however they should find it necessary to do it. With time he has begun to hate his father and mother too.

Kheskeim loved the easy life around the court, chasing and charming maidens and the luxury of exquisite wine & food and music & song. Over time he developed a cunning ability to avoid his training and learning lessons, for instead to be able to have fun and do what he wanted to. To his father it started going too far around the time he was eighteen, but domestic trouble in their area of Bashkher has taken most of his and Kheskeim's sibling’s time since then. (Kheskeim was deemed unusable for those campaigns/tasks by his father)

On a short break from the campaigns Lord Valantius returned home to the family keep, outraged and deeply concerned he told stories of people turning to stone and what not. Kheskeim had immediately laughed at these funny stories and made a mockery out of it. Furious his father had thrown him in the dungeon on bread and water for a week; turned out two of the unlucky ones turned to stone were indeed Kheskeim's eldest brothers.

Upon the end of the horrible week Kheskeim faced his mother in his father’s absence. She asked him if he regretted his foolishness, but being filled with contempt for his father and seeing his scheme at work here, Kheskeim refused.

His mother, nicknamed Iron Lady Valantius by some, coldly told him to fetch his things and if he did not do so, he would have to leave without anything. Full of disbelief at this but not being as stupid as bark on a tree, he fetched his things and returned to his mother’s presence showing no remorse. Knights in service to the Valantius house had brought his armour and his family sword, newly readied and polished by the looks of it. He hated his armour, being too heavy and deeply annoying to move around in. If he hated that, he hated the sword even more. He'd always preferred a sable or rapier, which he thought nobler anyway; this huge sword he was barely able to swing properly.

"Kheskeim, my son and son of the House Valantius", his mother had started. "You are by the orders of your father, the Lord of Valantius, and noted by my consent, to begin your Voyage of Valour. We have seen no other solution to end your ignoble ways of living and most importantly to show you why Bashkher and House Valantius need you a strong leader, which you by birth are destined to be. The voyage has no time limits and no fixed destination; its only requirement is that you shall not return to this place before your deeds have deemed you a man of valour. Not by your own judgement, but by that of others. Be warned that this shall not be taken lightly and refusal or mockery of this task will win you only banishment from House Valantius and a life on the street."

Ignoring Kheskeim's counter proposals and empty promises, his mother ordered the knights to dress him up as a proper nobleman and ready his horse. In armour and shield made of fine metals and with the beautiful Valantius family crest (black gauntlet on red background), on which most people would have looked upon in awe, but which looked ugly and utterly silly to Kheskeim, he soon sat in the courtyard on his horse Harmsway. Small bags behind him were filled with useful items, some gold from the family coffers, and provisions for a week’s journey.

Before he left, his mother had spoken to him one last time.

"Kheskeim, look at me! Believe me my son, this we do for your own good most of all. When you return, you will know that we are not the evil of this world." Coldly but with what seemed to Kheskeim as a slight change of voice to the more concerned she ended: "Fare with wind and fare with valour my son."

He had only smirked to her and set off on his horse with no words left hanging in the air.

***************************************

(On the way his horse is either killed or stolen, some of his money and most provisions taken... that's the plan anyway)

[short back-story my ass... I just can't do it Capt'n!]

Malchik: I took some liberties wrt. Bashkher, if I went in an alit poo direction, please tell me what to fix.

Edit: Timezone CET (gmt+1) but... online most of the time anyway
