This thread having gone somewhat astray, I would like to draw your attention to the folowing images, and thus establish an albeit feeble connection between our beloved chocolate-egg-and-pancake week, and the chosen festive indumentary of people here in Spain. While mum and dad are secretively running round with Bugs Bunny masks on stashing easter eggs, the Spanish are prancing around looking like something out of a White Power propaganda movie.

 

 

 

It's actually a way of making HUGE wads of dosh for the Catholic Church, under the guise of a series of processions claiming to represent paying "penance" for their sins.

Yes. As karkarinus said debates and discussions regarding religion have no place on these forums. While I know that it may be difficult to avoid in a thread titled 'easter', it is a secular holiday as well as a christian one.
