Thanks for your help! Apparently this is a problem since version 1.4. To get over the problem I had to use FOMM to change the esp to an esm and all the head and body texture problems went away. GrandsonOfSam
First of all, sorry for replying to an "old" thread, but I had a good reason. In fallout mod manager- 1. Use plugin editor button2. go to "file", click open and select esp which you want to convert into esm3. go to "spells" and click make esm And that's it Apparently this is a common thing, as I ran into this too when making a house mod for myself with a few added NPC:s... This question and solution should really be in the FAQ thread for modding troubleshooting, as it took me 2 hours with search to find this solution. Just so others know, this can happen even when making an exact copy of an existing NPC... Another thing, convert to .ESM after finalizing, as atleast I couldnt find a way to edit the .ESM after the conversion, so you have to make an .ESP that has the edits... Quetzlsacatanango
Use the FO3 Plugin utility, there is a dropdown menu to toggle to and from master. So if you want to edit your esm, open it, toggle master, open in geck and edit, save, then reopen in FO3 plugin util and toggle master again. If you use F03Edit to create you ESM it automatically creates a backup esp with the date added to the name. To enable editing to the backup again just rename the file by removing everything after the esp and it can be edited in the GECK again. I also found the F03Edit seems to do more than change the file to an esm. I had problems using FOMM to esm, with doors not working properly or rubble re-appearing in front of moded doors, doors going back to being boarded up etc. This problem went away when I started using F03edit to create the esm’s. GrandsonOfSam
Thanks for the warning about FOMM :) I'm not planning on putting my mod ingame other than testing until it's finished anyway, so no need for me to toggle the status. Repeating myself again, this really would need to put into the stickie FAQ thread about modding FO3, its such a basic thing, but very annoying when it happens. (And would help future starting modders to make the mistake too ;)
