The Master Of Zooz

Peering over Kalmer and Tiax's shoulders, T'skar looks at the disorientated man. "You look like you could use a drink, friend. Why don't you accompany us to the mid-city, where we can find a comfortable place to sit and rest, and maybe exchange some information?" She whispers to Kalmer "We are done here, aren't we?"

Aldhelm is still rather woozy when the third group member emerges from the building and turns to speak with him. As she is speaking, the fog over Aldhelm's mind suddenly clears as he recognizes another Tagfierian! He almost collapses in relief and only remains standing due to his heavy leaning upon his staff. So this must still be relatively close to where he and the others were! Relief floods through Aldhelm.

"You look like you could use a drink, friend. Why don't you accompany us to the mid-city, where we can find a comfortable place to sit and rest, and maybe exchange some information?"

"Thank you, and I think a drink would do me more good than ever before at this possible moment. Sorry, to be so blunt in my "introduction", my name is Aldhelm. This may sound like the ravings of one already drunk, but I only recently was with another group of travelers entirely and for reasons unknown to me, I was "dropped" here."

"Yes, we are done here." Replies kalmer to T'Skar. "And after that little escapade, I think we could all do with a little rest and recuperation. And none more than our friend here!" Kalmer helps the somewhat bewildered-looking mage over to a nearby bench. He also instantly recognises Aldhelm as a fellow Tagfierian. Producing a flask of water from his belt, he offers it to Aldhelm and says, "Well met, mage! Relax, regain your wits and tell us of your travails."

After Aldhelm's introduction to the woman, a man, another Tagferian, Aldhelm notes with even more relief, comes up to him.

"And after that little escapade, I think we could all do with a little rest and recuperation. And none more than our friend here!"

He places a hand on Aldhelm's shoulder and guides him over to a nearby bench. Producing a flask, he offers it to Aldhelm and says, "Well met, mage! Relax, regain your wits and tell us of your travails."

Taking the offered flask, Aldhelm opens it and looks at it, finding that it is only water, he begins to drink, having not even realized how thirsty he was from his "travels".

" Well friends, I was recently sent on a mission by my mentor, a man named Theoreon, whom is wise beyond compare. He said that certain disturbances in the ethereal planes had caused him worry of late and they were growing stronger. He was the most worried I have ever seen him so I knew that whatever this issue was it was of great importance and most likely danger.

So I rode my horse to the town my mentor sent me to, Papred, where I met a group of adventurers, who were also interested in investigating the disturbances. We traveled through many temples, from which these disturbances seemed to be eminating from.

We found the root of the problem is a man named Ruhir and his brothers who are seeking to be immortal through the uses of ancient and evil magicks. I had just begun to discuss the topic of how to defeat them with a very interesting boy and girl and a few of my party, when suddenly I wasn't there but instead here in this marketplace. And then I met you.

I do not suspect that I was randomly thrown among you for no reason, so perhaps I am to assist you.

Are you currently doing anything that would cause you to need assistance? I am a mage skilled in the ways of the Fire and will offers my services as such. I also employ other magical practices including enchantment and alchemy. "

"Just dropped here from out of nowhere?"

Tiax walked up to the bench and stopped next to it, looking away from it to the street. "Must have been a rather strange experience." Looking at Aldhelm Tiax continued. "A mage huh? you don't see those around here much. I don't know if you noticed yet but magic here is completely blocked. I thought you should know."

Tiax noticed the staff and looked at it for a few seconds. "That's a fine staff, keep good hold of it."

As always Tiax just says what he thinks that must be said without really bothering if everone understood it.

After the third man speaks, Aldhelm decides to share a few things he had forgotten to mention in his brief description of his and the others quest. " I'll admit, I do find it rather odd myself. However, compared to some of the things we saw in temples during our quest very few things seem very few things seem odd to me now that I've fought group of vanishing skeletons and chatted idly with a girl made of bones. "

"A mage huh? you don't see those around here much. I don't know if you noticed yet but magic here is completely blocked. I thought you should know."

"Really?" Aldhelm tries to channel energy out of his stsaff into a fireball, only to find himself halted by some invisible force. "Well, hopefully this is either temporary or very focused. I do have a rather nice dagger if I need to use it. "

"Thank you. I crafted this staff myself and have carried it with me since I made it."

"I was wondering if you wouldn't mind perhaps we can go investigate the temple here in town. I still have my permission from Bharat Desani and would like to perhaps continue my investigation if it is not to big of a hindrace to your party. You can decline this offer if you wish and I will in no way be offended."

OOC> Summary re Aldhelm

The group was to visit the 8 ancient temples. They have seen two - Sea Temple in Papred and Jade Temple in Dohoti. They met various 'ghost like' beings. One of these was called Ruhir. This creature took eyes from a girl called Bren, body from the Warrior Toman, and brain from an older woman Costanta. He needed a heart but appears to have been tricked in some way. You have to find him a heart to correct magical imbalances. However the man is evil and you have been told not to try it unless the man can be controlled. This requires the help of the three from whom he has taken body parts. You have support from Bren and probably Costanta although it needs to be confirmed. Bren was found in Dohoti. Toman is in the Temple of Dancing Waters in Golconar and Costanta in the Skull Temple Ippikander.

Whether there is anything in any of the other temples is unknown. For info they are, the Temple of Freedom in Kolokon, the Star Temple of Lopor, the Snake Temple of Veejani and the Sun Temple in Antinapura.

For further info ask Aldhelm in the rpg.

"Bharat Desani! We're on a quest for him as well," T'skar blurts before she realizes it, "Oh, well, might as well fill you in now. We are looking for a sword with a missing tip. Maybe we can work the two quests together. What was that name that Ocaranda said? Was it Riff? I think it was. A boy who's tongue had been cut out and wires drilled into his brain, and yet somehow he was able to make a wizard kill himself. I wonder if this has anything to do with your quest? It might be worth a trip to this temple."

"We would be happy to aid you in your search." Says Kalmer reassuringly. "And perhaps you would care to aid us in ours? We shall go to the Temple here, and then we must head for Ippikander, where we may just be able to kill two steppe-rats with one quarrel, as I'm sure you know we say on Tagfier!"

The group stand up and head for the Temple......

"Bharat Desani! We're on a quest for him as well," the female Tagfierian blurts, "Oh, well, might as well fill you in now. We are looking for a sword with a missing tip. A boy who's tongue had been cut out and wires drilled into his brain, and yet somehow he was able to make a wizard kill himself. I wonder if this has anything to do with your quest? "I would be glad to help you on your quest. Is there anything special about this sword that I should know? Let us hope not but with the variety of people I have been meeting on my quest has led me to believe that far more than I realized is associated with these temple disturbances. So when do we want to investigate the temple, are you done with your business here in the market?"

"We would be happy to aid you in your search." Says the male Tagfierian reassuringly. "And perhaps you would care to aid us in ours? We shall go to the Temple here, and then we must head for Ippikander, where we may just be able to kill two steppe-rats with one quarrel, as I'm sure you know we say on Tagfier!"

" As I just said to your friend, I would love to help aid you in your quest. Perhaps even these two quests are somehow tangled up, as have been the disturbances in the temples we have visited so far."

Aldhelm joins him in setting off.

" Oh by the way. I still do not know any of your names. Mine is Aldhelm as I think I stated earlier. "
