Panzer4
I've decided to start learning about modding and started with the Wiki tutorial. I downloaded Blender and the other toolbox apps it calls for, but when installing Blender, it said that it was unable to find Python, which I had already installed some time ago for Wrye Bash. So, since Blender couldn't find it, I decided to follow the embedded link to the Python site, download it, and install it anew. The problem is that when I then unzipped Python and sought to install it, the Read Me file might as well have been written in Cyrodillic for all the good it did me as it talked about things such as "building" Python etc. So if someone would please give me some basic guidance as to how to get Python to install so Blender will recognize it, I would be most grateful indeed. Panzer4 The problem is actually that Wrye Bash requires an older version of Python than Blender requires, so you have to have TWO versions of Python installed, one exclusively for Wrye Bash, and a different one for Blender. I hope you installed them into TWO separate Locations. It's been some time since I installed Blender and I don't remember anything unusual about installing the version of Python it required. A quick link or a quote to the specific item confusing you would be helpful, otherwise it may take longer to help. Panzer4
When Blender installs, it says it can't find Python and then gives a link to http://www.python.org/. I then open the window to Python 2.6.4, but from there on I'm not sure which version to select (I'm assuming WINDOWS AMD 64 ASI as my CPU is an AMD 64). Once I download it, I haven't the foggiest idea of what to do with it or where to put it. If you need any more info let me know. I appreciate your willingness to help. Edit: Wrong version. Not supported by my processor. So I'm not sure which one to use. Yesterday I tried the first one on the list but, as I said in my initial post, had not a clue as to how to install it. Panzer4
It turned out that I had simply downloaded the wrong version. When I got the .msi version Blender installed with no problem.
