dragonageaddonz42
The brave prince Cousland has fought his way through the treacherous Arl's men the castle, finally making it to the main gates. There he finds his best friend Ser Gilmore and 10 or so guards valiantly fighting a contingent of Howe's men. With the aid of the prince, his faithful hound, and the teryness, Ser Gilmore pushes Howe's troops back with no casualties. He urgently tells the prince to escape, and that he would face sure death by barring the gates with his body to buy him time. Good story, right? I guess, but that's not the point. The point is that there were nine other guards, and only three guards were needing to bar the door long enough for the prince to escape. The dialogue choice that equates to "I order you to come with me" grants a "I have to do this to save you" type response. Meanwhile that elf and guard that are tagging along with me all the way to the kitchen are never seen again- did they come with us through the tunnel? Were they retconned? Are they just not important enough to mention and are thus edited out? Meanwhile in Denerim, stealing and being caught by guards has battalions and battalions of men from the town guard are sent after the Grey Warden (for naught but petty theft, during a time when manpower is too low to stop dangerous crime and "the gutters run red with blood") Meanwhile, Sergeant Kylon, leader(?) of the Denerim town guard, is asking for the Grey Warden's aid to put down some drunken mercenaries, while at the same time sending his men right into my sword. He doesn't even mention a cop out like "oh and I'm sorry about the town guard attacking you, it's an order from high up. maybe if you help me out I can stop them." nothing. just "oh hey warden I recognize you from the wanted posters. want to make a few sovereigns by killing drunk guys?" One final example is making Wynne a Blood Mage. I don't even have to say any about this although it clearly breaks the immersion. Theres not even a high level coercion check like "it's for the greater good." As I'm sure others can attest to, things like this happen all the time in this game, and while it's not a huge bother, it can mess with the immersion. If any competent modders feel the same, maybe they could partially address these and similar issues? I truly don't know how hard things like this are and if I'm being ridiculous or pretentious for even asking you have my apologies.
