Atiti
Hello, I wanted to post it on the official bethesda boards but registration doesn't work....Anyway,I got an onboard sound chipset, VIA envy 24, and suffered from stuttering, especially on horseback. I noticed that by disabling audio hardware acceleration in dxdiag the stutters were gone and everything was running smoothly! The bad news is that the music get screwed up and i have to disable it in the ini file. So i've emailed bethesda about it to know if it can be fixed with a patch, meanwhile it can be worth a try for those who get stutters (audio/video stutters) 'later edit: I've found that by setting "iMaxImpactSoundCount" to 0 in oblivion.ini fixes all the stuttering for me, without having to disable sound hardware acceleration, the only thing is that you don't get any weapon sound but i can live with that waiting for a patch :)
fletcherhunt
I share your pain, buddy. The same thing constantly tortures me, but personally I'd prefer to just live with the lag/avoid horses and wolves. The weapon sounds are just too good. Got good news!I found on the official forum the solution for envy24 onboard sound. Just enable the immerzio 3d effects in the envy audio deck then no more stutters with all the sounds playing fine! (no hit on performance either) Now i can fully enjoy the game at last :D
