Scripting

I've written a "Scripting for Beginners" tutorial, as well as a couple of other scripting tutorials, that you might find useful - Scripting for Beginners

Aside from that, you can find tutorials and function documentation on the GECK Wiki. If you find yourself looking for even more material, you could look at the content of the Oblivion CS Wiki, as the scripting languages used in Fallout 3 and Oblivion are practically identical.

I'm glad to hear that you've already taken a look at my tutorial. Unfortunately, there isn't an awful lot of material when it comes to tutorials and the like for scripting in Fallout 3, and as far as I know a fair chunk of it was written by me. After what you can find on cipscis.com and the GECK Wiki, your best bet would be to look at the material available on the Oblivion CS Wiki.

If you've been on my site, you've probably noticed that I have a few scripting tutorials more specific than my Scripting for Beginners tutorial - at the moment I have tutorials for menus, loops and staged timers. Another good way to learn scripting is to have a look at scripts that have already been written, either by scripts included in mods or those found in Fallout3.esm, and step through them line by line to figure out what they do. Once you feel you understand them, try adding or changing something to help you understand it even better. Being able to edit scripts is just as useful as being able to write them from scratch, as you'll most likely only write each script from scratch once, but edit it many times after that.

Another good way to learn about scripting is to browse through forums where people ask for and receive help with it. Your best bet would probably be this forum, the Fallout 3 Modification Troubleshooting forum, and the Official GECK forum.

If you run into anything in particular that you have trouble getting your head around, or you find something that you'd like to do but don't know how, then ask about it here and myself or someone else will be happy to give you a hand.
