Modding ED-E to be a humanoid

I've seen mods around that turn ED-E into a slutty female so I know that this IS possible. What I'd like to know is how?

 

Also, rather than turning ED-E into a human, is it possible to turn his model into say...a walking set of Power Armour? (i know i could turn ED-E into a human and then equip the power armour but then it'd lose the flavour for me XD)

I'd imagine it would involve creating a human NPC and assign it "EDEScript" under the Scripts option.

 

As for walking set of power armor, not sure if possible. From my understanding, the armor's walking animation is borrowed from whoever is wearing it. I think you would have to create a new power armor model with walking animations to get what you want. Just faster and simpler to do the "human wearing route".

Create a new directory under /meshes/creatures

Put the human skeleton.nif in there.

Put all the .kf animations in there that you want your golem to be able to use

Put all the pieces of power armor in there.

Create a new creature

Point to the skeleton.nif in your new directory

Tick all the pieces you want it to have.

 

That's the gist, salt to taste.

So, I had the bright idea to turn ED-E into a fembot using the models from Daughters of Ares

 

What I did was modify this mod here : http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/36339/?

 

by changing the actor id of ED-E into that of a robot from here: http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/53683/? (that was all that I did)

 

Everything worked fine- or so it seemed.

 

Models were replaced perfectly, ED-E would run properly and equip weapons properly too. The only problem happens in a happen. ED-E will have the weapon equipped, but does not fight at all. What step am I missing?

 

Do I need to upload the esp or something so that you guys can run through it?
