Lagging on Oldblivion and Loading Times

I've recently been using Oldblivion and it reduced lag a bit,but when i'm walking,it takes loads of

time to load the meshes.Seeing that you guys have been playing oblivion for a while now,I was

wondering if there was something I could do.Besides putting all the fades, distant views etc.

down.

(I already put it on the lowest possible)

Also, cities take loads of time to load (10-15 mins.)

I use a :

ATI Radeon 9600 SE

Intel®Pentium® 4 CPU

1.80GHz 1.79GHz

256 MB of RAM (3 gigs reserved on Disk C)

LowPoly Grass and Short Grass V3 should be compatible with oldblivion (I guess) and they should help when you are outside the cities.

The 256MB of RAM is probably the worst of that line up. Shortly followed by the 128MB of dedicated graphics RAM on your card (right?).

Find out what sort of memory your computer uses - it might be surprisingly cheap to upgrade. Also people are literally throwing away computers that old so check out groups like Freecycle.

I actually picked up a computer mini-tower with Windows XP on it from my local recycling centre - don't tell anybody! ;)

Wait,so the 3 gigs of reserve are not doing anything?

They're letting your program run (walk), but 'memory' on your hard disk just isn't anywhere near as fast as memory on your mother board.

I thought Oldblivion was supposed to make computers like mine run better.
