Major Malfunction

As I said, all crimes except pickpocketing (and maybe tresspassing, i haven"t checked) don't work. I can steal items freely in plain sight without being confronted in any way, and even if i attack guards, all they do is immediately draw out their weapons and attack me, no bounty, no "STOP RIGHT THERE CRIMINAL SCUM". This happens on all saves of my main character, of course; if i make a new character or load a save of a different character, everything works, which leads me to the conclusion that no mods are causing this. Yes, Oblivion is patched, I really don't know what to do.

I am fairly new to making mods, but have played mods enough to think that you might have a problem with 2 of your mods. It sounds like something minor (like a timer, short counter or ref) got confused and is trying to modify with scripts that it wasn't intended. I had a problem like this that didn't start immediately. I had Reneer's Guard Overhaul and I can't remember what was affecting the problem. The problem was that the doors to cities would always be locked. I didn't think it was a mod conflict either until it happened over and over with new saves, only after time. I uninstalled any conflicting mods and playtested until I found the problem. I'm sure that there's an easier way to fix conflicts, but I haven't gone into the mod cleaning tutorials yet. That might help, might not.

Also, is your patch up to the 3.x unofficial fix? That helped me with a lot of my issues when playing with a hundred + mods.

If I didn't add anything usefull, I'm sorry. My name states it all, theuseless. Just thought I might interject my opinion (not necessarily advice).

that's what i thought, so i turned off all the mods i had, except the ones that i now completely needed to even run the game on that save

These mods are:

Better Dark Brotherhood Sanctuary

EVE

Landscape LOD textures

Get up anim replacer

Nighteye shader replacement

TNR

Deadly Reflex

MAO

Of course i have many more mods, but i haven't downloaded any mods that change NPC behavior in any way, not even "No Psychic Guards" though that's not to say they can't. My biggest mods are cobl, deadly reflex and francesco's, the rest of my mods are mostly environmental or character appearance related, at least that's what i remember, i have many mods

Though it is to be stated that they're all turned off.

And yeah i have the latest UOP.

Latest obse loader too.

on one of my early attempts to run this game with mods i've experienced the same problem and only a reinstall with a more cautious mod installing process helped me to get rid of this. how about you try installing some behaviour altering mods, like ren's guard overhaul and enhanced grabbing. maybe they will override/replace whatever is missing, just a guess.

The problem's disappeared randomly without me having done anything, but now it's back. I think what's happening is guards and other NPCs interact with me as if I were an NPC as well. E.G. just attacking me when I attack guards, just walking over to me when I steal items and taking them out of my inventory, etc. Any idea what might be causing this?
