Kyler45
I've actually tried this on two different computers, both with fresh installs, and for some reason the game crashes during character creation. I have no mods installed, and I'm not sure what to do!On my desktop I actually had it get to th vigor tester but all the tiles on it were black and I couldn't see any text or anything! Now it just crashes at the character creation on both my laptop AND my desktop! What should I do?I should probably say that I have all the dlc, and even when I have it disabled in data files on the launcher, it still boots up giving me all the items from the dlc! I have tried disabling automatic updates and steam cloud sync, but that didn't work either! I've tried editing the ini with the HWthreads and ThreadedAI, as well as physically removing the DLC from the data folder, nothing works! One thing I have noticed is that before it crashes I can hear the audio kind of...skipping...or cutting, and then a couple seconds later is just crashes! I've also tried disabling autosaves, it doesn't help either.laptop specs:Intel core I7-3610QM @2.3GHZ8gb ramNvidia gtx 660mWindows 7Desktop specs:Intel core I5-750 @ 2.6ghz12gb ramnvidia gt 760 tiWindows
MarchUntoTorment
Redownload and reinstall. I've never heard of an issue on this scale before. If that doesn't work, try opening it in compatibility mode. If THAT doesn't work, then I'm willing to bet you've got the largest hardware problem known to man.
Kyler45
I can say for certain it is neither a hardware problem nor a reinstall problem. I have used two completely different devices, different hardware, and multiple reinstalls. I'll give compatibility mode a try.
MarchUntoTorment
Holy Christ, then I have no idea what you're doing wrong. This is a whole new tier of weird. Maybe Run as Administrator could help?
PsyfonToolNin
Update drivers? Also make sure you download and run LOOT to make sure the load order is right. If fallout.esm is loading after any of the dlc's, well, thats no good... Edited May 13, 2014 by PsyfonToolNin
