DarkSpyda04
*Smashes computer* http://i897.photobucket.com/albums/ac172/DarkSpydaIV/fgdhethetjrytkol_zpsa3771d85.png No matter what I do, I cannot add in more textures to these stupid quads. I paint a texture, it shows up as black, LAND_DEFAULT remains at 100% for all four quads and does not change no matter how much I sing or dance. Bess
For starters, you could look at this fairly recent thread, if you haven't already found it. And I very much recommend following Striker's link to DarkRider's explanation at TES Alliance.
mhahn123
Assuming this is somewhere in the vanilla Oblivion worldspace, I can tell you there are a few landscape texture bugs. The biggest being the black texture bug...which is caused when you delete the dominant texture in a cell quad. Dominant Texture being the texture with highest percentage of use, and/or the first texture listed in that quad. There is a workaround with which you can avoid this problem. Simply replace these textures with another vs deleting them. If deleting said texture(s) is indeed what you did, I don't know any way of repairing the damage other than starting over. Had this happen once when I was first learning...found a few articles about the problem, but nothing on how to fix it once the bug is there. If this is a new world space...I don't have much knowledge regarding that. But would assume the same bugs are present as well. You do have a backup of your file prior to this problem kicking in? DarkSpyda04
@mhahn I'm using CSE if it's of any significance and every last cell in the world space was like this from the moment it was created. In fact I could load Oblivion.esm for a new .esp and create a new world space and have this problem. And when I paint I see nothing but black and it is also black in the game when I play. Alas, there is still something magical and reassuring about seeing this terrain and cathedral that I place on the map in gameplay so I suppose it's not all bad. It's nothing big like what Simyaz creates with his deep story mods and scenes but it's something. http://i897.photobucket.com/albums/ac172/DarkSpydaIV/ScreenShot209_zps7e91aa88.png Edited May 8, 2014 by DarkSpyda04

Wish I could offer some sage advice, but as stated have never experimented with building a new worldspace. Not sure how differently things function in that regard. But would assume since it's the same CS things should work the same way. I doubt using CSE has anything to do with it, that's what I use and it works just fine for landscaping. May be helpful to just reach out to some of the folks who have uploaded new worldspace mods. One of them is bound to offer a helping hand or tip. My guess is there is a missed step somewhere along the line. Perhaps something to do with generating the landscape effects the landscape textures...IDK...just shooting in the dark here. kastano
ok i may soumd a little stupidi dont have the version of cs extender you have because i dont see that features in mine (the four quad thing)- the landscape textures load automatic but you must have oblivion esm as a master (if you dont it loads only the default texture)if your land is small and you make it manuallyyou have to check the edit colours in Landscape edit settings if you wanna edit the colour(if that is)the first is black and the second set it to the colour you want (white if you wanna remove the black)and rightclick paint(the default is black and white, perhaps you changed it by mistake)uncheck it when you want to texture again
DarkSpyda04
@kastano Already knew all of that. The four quad thing is accessed when you press "I" but you have to have the "Landscape Edit Settings" dialogue opened before it will work. @mhahn Know of any people in particular that are still around? Most modders are long gone.

Most modders are long gone.Off the top of my head..David Brasher came to mind. He is still active in Skyrim modding and has responded to my recent messages. Pretty knowledgeable and may have some insight. Antiscamp had some experience in new worldspace modding and has recently responded to PMs from me. No guarantees but may be good starting points.
