LordKinoda
Well I've made a list of alot of things I would like to see modded. I've crossed some of them off, as they've been created, but the major ones I'm lookin for are still not in existence. So without further ado. At the top of my list is: -A fully voiced main character with a few new animations mixed in with the others already used; obviously have to add in time for the dialog to be spoken so PC and NPC are not talking at the same time; and spin the camera on the PC when s/he is talking so we're not looking at the NPC's face all the time; move the camera back to the PC to get facial reactions to some comments made by NPC's. The easiest example is of course, Mass Effect. Who the hell knows why BioWare didn't make this game exactly like ME's dialog system, but whatever. I'm more interested in somebody just making all the animations/ lip syncs/ etc., and have it easily accessible to add my own audio files for the voice. Heh, this would be an awesome official DLC, and easily worth $5. But if somebody can do it, please do. Most likely a massive undertaking, but extremely worthwhile in the end. -More models for mage robes. It seems like the mages got jipped a bunch in the game (in more ways than armor variety). There are only a few models of staves and robes. Lots more variety for the other 2 classes. Granted they're not extensive either, but more varied than the mage's choices. (I'm guessing armor/robe/weapon modelling will really take off once somebody figures out how to convert models from a program like Zbrush into the game) -Different body types. This one is self explanatory. -Grey Warden colors and gryphon emblems on some armors/robes/shields (some derivation of blue would be my choice) I like the color they have for Sophia Dryden's armor Morrigan Hood added to robes (something akin to the concept art)list] -Robes reskined to all black. Of course not so black that you can't see any detail. Different shades of black where applicable. You know what I mean. -Some kind of derivation for the 'Robes of Possession'. They shouldn't be the exact same model. Only a few small tweaks here there could do it. Loghain -Unique armor instead of the plain silver, either reskinned to add markings and color or just a model edit. He is the 'hero of Ferelden' afterall. I felt that his armor is just too plain. It needs something distinctive about it. Mage -Magic always shoots out of hands, even the default attack. This would be pretty neat I think. Think of mages in WoW as an example. Just keep the staff on the back for the stats. Armors/Weapons/Rings -Unique skins and models for every existing item in the game so no two look alike. This too would be quite a challenge, but well worth the effort if somebody has the skill and time. -All helms stay on during conversation scenes (some will have to be remodeled to avoid major clipping). Seems silly that they just pop off even though you were wearing them a second ago. -Add some ring models (mostly with mage robes considering glove armors cover hands). And of course for underwear and nude skins. So in essence, for every ring model on a hand that wears armor, a matching one for the nude skin. Otherwise the ring would just be removed when the armor is. Which would be kind of silly. -Juggernaut reskin and remodel with unique markings. This armor takes a little bit of effort to get. It shouldn't be so plain and look like every other armor of it's type. -NEW weapon and armor models and skins. This area definently needs some variety. Moreso for mage staves. There are only 3 models afterall. -Weapon holsters/strap models for all characters and armors (this one could prove to be very difficult considering all the movement of the weapons, clipping is probably unavoidable, which would have course make the holster moot to have; perhaps the weapons could remain a little more static when the chracters are moving, afterall they are now in holsters so it's reasonable to assume they would stay a little more still -Eliminate enchantment animation effects (e.g. lightning sparks, ice vapor) on all weapons; Make it so only small rune markings are on the weapons, if you have to make a skin at all; Or the weapon skins themselves only take on the effect with no animations (e.g. Frost enchantments make the weapons take on an icy look, Fire makes the skins have a magma glowing type look, but still removes the annoying animation). Somebody has posted something like this already I think, but not really in the way I'm thinking. -Reskin of Drakescale leather armor to black color and add a scaly look to make it look like it's actually made out of scales. I found the armor disappointing. It should definently be unique. Particularly if you're paying for it. NPC's -NPC race diversity and face models (not really that many black/latino/arab/indian/asian looking characters throughout Ferelden; granted it seems like it has a middle ages England type feel, but it is entirely fictional land so those limits can be cast out) I've seen somebody else post that it's hard to make really dark character's for lighting reasons. I guess I can see why, but that doesen't mean some kind of diversity couldn't be made. -Zathrian robe recolor and maybe remodel to be unique so as to not look like anything the PC or companions can wear -Unique clothing for Bodahn. The plain civillian clothes he has on are just silly IMO. -Connor Guerrin needs a new head skin, he looks too much like the child in Lothering who was looking for his mother -Sexy barmaid type outfit for Bella the barmaid in Redcliffe -No character fading when camera is too close -Companions walk when PC does. This has been asked before I think. Somebody said it'd be tricky to do. Even so, it has to be possible somehow. Be really nice if somebody could crank it out. -Uldred needs a meaner, eviler type face; maybe just add the "old" complexion look to add the dark circles under the eyes (similiar to Irving) -Vendor added to the 'General Store' in Redcliffe after the undead battle (Health and Lyrium potions, mabari crunch, 15-20 flasks, 1 or 2 recipies, few trap pieces; dialog for a simple merchant shouldn't be too difficult) Maps and Scenery -Unique skins for party camp tents -Wooden stairs need to be added that lead up to the tavern in Redcliffe; they have these same type of stairs that lead up to the windmill, they just need to be added in front of the tavern Sounds -Extend the "pause breaks" for the background noises so they are not played so often (e.g. Dog barking, coughing, crying, screaming) Somebody did add a mod to make Dog do this. But the other background noises need the same treatment. -Turn armor jingle volume down. Self explanatory. -Turn Shale's footsteps volume down. Self explanatory. Graphics and Effects -Mages need a "finishing kill" type animations when it is them who delivers the final blow akin to the Warriors and Rouges. There is some cool potential for mages on this, too bad BW didn't make some. Sure some of the spell combinations kill enemies instantly, but not correctly. For example: If you shatter an enemy the pieces of the ice/rock fall off the outside and then then they keel over; instead of them just falling into shards -Eliminate 'Mode' ability graphics. I can't tell you how much these things irk me (especially if you're caught with them on during any conversations). The status icons are more than enough IMO. Hope I didn't scare anybody away with the long post, heh. Just wanted to throw out my ideas in the hopes that some people talented in the particular types of modding can see them. Maybe they've already thought of most of the ideas and are currently working on them. I don't know. Be great if they did. But if not, they're listed for your inspiration (and my ,and hopfully everbody elses', enjoyment).
