How to add mods to game

How do I add a mod to the game. I get an error (sorry I didn't write it down) that tells me to call tech support.

Are you trying to add a mod you made? or play one that someone else made?

If the latter, which mod? And how did you try to add it?

 

Without the exact error, it's kind of hard to tell you what to do.

 

If you have never installed user made mods before, I have a set of help files for people who are not computer geeks and are new to mods. They include downloading, extracting (unzipping) installing and activating mods. I have included a simple mod to practice on and instructions for installing and using 7-zip. If you are interested, click on the highlighted link below to be taken to the site where they are kept. I recommend starting with #1 and working your way through them.

I played Oblivion for years and used the Mod Manager but when I try and use the DAModder.exe it doesn't show any down loaded mods. The mod I downloaded is called larger backpacks it attempts to use the DAcontent updater and causes an error "cannot find daupdater.xml --- Contact Tech Support.

could you link the mod you tried to install with DAModder and had problems with?

 

What version of DAModder have you tried to use and got that problem with?

 

I would like to track that problem down.

Hey Ben, would you happen to have one of these little install tuts for the DAO toolset? I myself need to learn how to properly install my user created mods, from a blank terrain mesh all the way to completetion. I can get my current mod ingame but Im confused stil one the proper order in which I should render, post, export, etc etc.. I have many more questions so Ill prolly post a new thread for this :O lol
