darkus37
Hi, I want to try my hand at a vault city type area and I was wondering if someone could release a resource of building interiors and exteriors of the Combine structures from Half-Life 2. I am referring to the building the combine constructed like the citadel - not the remains of City 17 and the like. I would also like the walls from the game - the ones that "move" although I do not want them to do so - just the look. ecksile
You can already access the models and textures if you own the game. You would just need to port them, set them up, and then add them into the game. I don't think you would be able to release the mod if you used ported models though. It would be the same if someone made a resource for you as well they wouldn't be able to release it to you unless they made the models and textures themselves. mutle
i'd gladly do it myself... if i could... but i really don't know much about the geck and other modder stuff..we gonna need to assemble a team and start porting... oh and i own the game, both episode 2, so i can upload the models and teyxtures to somewhere
ecksile
they aren't distributable because of copyrights and other legal mumbo jumbo is what i was saying. You would have to do all the ports yourself and only be able to use them yourself.

ecksile
I don't believe from valves vanilla models and textures are... You'd have to read the fine print.

CommanderCrazy
The rules of the website say that you cant release ported models & textures."If so the file will be removed and there will be severe consequences"Or something along those lines.CC
ecksile
Actually you need proper licensing and permission to release ported models. You can release them as long as those terms are met. But i don't think valve grants either of those so in this case they wouldn't be releasable.
