Megatarius
Thanks Balagor. :thanks: Quick question why are you "adults" playing games when you should have jobs and be working to pay for food and rent im 12 i have a reason to play them i cant get a job thats why it just something to pass the time (if you were offended sorry just askin questions) You're absolutely right. In fact, I don't have time. I'm too busy with work. I work from home right now, so I look at this board when I'm taking a break. I made a thread about that in the General Oblivion section. http://thenexusforums.com/index.php?showtopic=170065

In Denmark we don´t work that much, 37 hours per week, giving me plenty of time for both my family and gaming. Also check my profile and read my statement: YOU DON´T STOP PLAYING WHEN YOU BECOME OLD,BUT YOU BECOME OLD WHEN YOU STOP PLAYING. Sorry, this got off topic. Back to the topic; if you look at the polls, you will get the idea that actually more than 50 % of the gamers are 18+, which (to me) meens that ESRB should not be necassery at all. We do not have it in DK. It is (i think) up to the individual family to decide things like that. The problem is not to make some proper rules for the teenagers to follow. No, the problem is for the intertainment industry to produce some decent games. Saying that, i do not think of games with no nudity. That`s harmless. No, i think of games not showing war as an "amusmentpark".

But here in the U.S. we find violence entertaining and funny, but nudity- no one should ever see nudity, ever....well what im trying to get at is who actually rates the games in the esrb, because one way or another the game is going to be rated completely biased and therefor invalid. We are not a bunch of old hippies, running around naked, saying "peace brother" to each other. But you´r absolutely right about the differenties in our cultures, also have a deep impact on what we would like to see, not only in video games, but also on tv and movies.I have seen examples on video games from the far east. They are even more violent, with arms, leg and heads chopped off. They have deep roots in the Samurai culture. Yes, we are a big world of different cultures and different codex. I can only join your opinion that game rating will be biased.
ginnyfizz
Yes, I'm a European, well, British anyway, and we are more relaxed about nudity than the attitude that prevails in the US, at least among those who rate video games. So I certainly can't see why what we ALL have (albeit buried under warm clothing ATM!), ie a nude body, is so much more heinous than dismemberment.
