Uzerrr
I meant overhaul... hello? I can load items by myself... but it won't change game's core.
fallingshells
I meant overhaul... hello? I can load items by myself... but it won't change game's core. well its not a very precise question now is it ? if you want an overhaul whith or whithout those item suggestedthen it wont be Fallout 3 it'll be Fallout 2 and an overhaul would mean someone creating specific textures then matching those to meshes making a whole new worldspace and indoor spaces, new NPCs, New dialogue (which would mean new voices and lip files), a whole new main quest and mini/side quests, new weapons, new armour, misc items, chems/meds, new creatures, new foes to plot into the new quests and mini/side quests. and frankly i dont think any body would be willing to create an overhaul like that, sorry mate. Uzerrr
Ok i will change my question to be more specific:I understand that Fallout 2 like mod will containt: itemz, sounds, models.Ok, I can google for it, browse nexus and so on.But...I don't need overhaul in terms of exact project with NPCs.I am talking about mechanic close to Fallout 2 with similiar feeling. Playing F3 for the first time I couldn't get rid off the feeling that I play Oblivion with gunz ( btw Oblivion with word lvling was total fail). I sold F3 and I am very happy that I sold this PoS. But since there is edition with DLCs now I am considering buying it back at low price. To do so I would like to know is it worth - I mean is there mod that makes lolFallout something close to Fallout and I've used F2 as example. I know Fail-Vats will be still there becouse Bethesda simply failed again, but still...is there something around like this?
Ziusudra
After War Mod seems to be something of an overhaul but development seems to have stalled. Quote: "New mod which changes game mechanics to be more similar to previous Fallouts also adds new balanced weapons and much more!" Or maybe it's no longer stalled: "19:05, 26 November 2009 Sorry for not so fast response but I was quite busy and wasn't using computer for a while. I'm going to continue making my mod because I have new graphic card and I will have some free time."
Uzerrr
Yeah, it seems like one I've been looking for. Thank you very much!
Tony the Wookie
If you don't like Fallout 3 to begin with, I don't think any amount of mods can really change that. After all, they are only modifications, and the core of the game still remains the same. If you want Fallout 2, then go play Fallout 2.
Uzerrr
Well... F3 is quite nice game, it is not Fallout, but it is good game. And mods can only improve that. And thanks, I've got F2 and I've finished it again not so long ago, along with Planescape Torment. They just don't know how to make RGPs these days *sigh*.Anyways - I am open for other options if there are any? Mods make games better, but if the game just isn't your style, I don't think mods will do that for you... (No matter what you do, you can't mod Civilization 4 into something a 1st person shooter fan would like) But anyways, there are a ton of mods out there that change stuff like the value of items and whether or not stimpacks heal instantly and how much ammo is left around and mods that make eating and sleeping neccessary and all sorts of other things like that. You just have to go out there and look. But that really isn't the games "Mechanics" though...
