Apollo54
Alright, I'm having two issues here. I've already tried a number of things to fix them, but nothing has worked. The first problem lies in closing Oblivion gates. I've heard a few other people have this problem, but it doesn't seem to be the same as mine. When I go grab the sigil stone, the stone leaves the place, the entire building explodes, and after the white flash I've found that I'm still standing in the same place. There isn't another sigil stone in its place, and when I go in to the console command I get the message "Error in script af03bcc8Unexpected token type 66 (42) encountered" I have no idea what that means or if it even affects anything. It's not a massive, game-ending deal because I can always type in the "CloseOblivionGate" command and the gate will shut, but it would be nice to have it fixed. Another thing I noticed, however, is that the "CloseCurrentOblivionGate" command doesn't work when I'm inside the gate, but when I'm out in the normal game world and I type that in it closes the gate and teleports me inside it. Could it be possible that, for some odd reason, Oblivion thinks that the game world is Oblivion, and Oblivion is... erm... not Oblivion? I have no clue why that would happen, but it's the only thing I can think of at this point. My second issue is in the music. None of the music plays when I'm playing the game. Sound works, but music won't. Even the music at the opening sequence. I've tried to disable codecs that could be affecting it, but that doesn't work. I even went as far as to install a clean version of Windows, but that didn't do anything either. I tried downloading a couple mods that change the way music is played and such, but those also didn't help. Any ideas as to how it can be fixed? Edit: Ironically, after suffering through the problem for months, a few seconds after I post this I've solved the issue about oblivion gates. Turns out the one in the Kumiko Manor mod that one goes through in the Kumiko Family tomb counts as an actual Oblivion gate, so the game actually does think that you're in oblivion instead of the game world. Do the CloseOblivionGate command, then use the coc command to teleport out of the tomb area and everything's back to normal. The music is still screwed up though, so any help with that would be appreciated. :P
Eiries
I don't know why it'd be this way, but try looking at your oblivion.ini file (located under Documents/My Games/Oblivion. Find bSoundEnabled and see if it's set to 0. If it is, set it to 1 and resave it.

bben46
As to the first problem, a load order might help us diagnose it. How to post a Load order list article http://www.tesnexus.com/articles/article.php?id=
