*****ing vault 112! constant crashing after leaveing building.

Recommended Posts

I had finally gotten fallout 3 working for at-least a hour without major slowdown or crash when I decide to try continuing the main quest ala vault 112 + tranquility hell. all progresses well until I follow the *** who somehow has the nerve to call himself father and scientist in the same sentence out the entrance to smith Cassy's garage. and my game crashes. so I start it up again and it crashes after taking 2 steps outside the door, again and it crashes trying to load the save. so I delete that save and pull up the last save which was thankfully just getting out of the vault area , continue to the door again , exit and promptly crash in the same pattern again.

I have many mods loaded but all had worked before this point and none to my knowledge effect this area directly , I also know tranquility lane tends to change things and cause crashing - etc but I could not find this sort of problem by searching , go figure. any help would be appreciated.

Unload all your mods except vanilla (and DLCs), start a new game. If the problem still persists, then post back here. If it doesn't then you have some f'd up mods or an incorrect load order. There are mods and there are mods. Not every modder makes his/her mods with care. It is totally possible to screw up an area without ever modding that area. As I posted in an other thread, I was cleaning someones mod the other day. It was causing CTDs, He had deleted vanilla objects to make room for his own content. But the GECK doesn't handle deletes very well at all. So what happened was that vanilla content was overridden with his own. For example, what was supposed to be a rock was now a bed. Same form ID, different object. That is bad. You may have a mod that is doing the same thing. Remove 'em all and try a fresh game. If it doesn't crash, start adding mods back until you can find the

one(s) that are causing the CTDs.
