Problem with sortomatic in Afterschool special

Okay, so I am having problems with the sortomatic system in the house/quest mod "Aftershool special". My problem is with the crafting system, which to me seems buggy, and I have several problems with. I have watched the Mike Honcho tutorial, but I am afraid that I could not fix this with its help.

 

If anyone can tell me, at the very least if they have similar problems, that would be awesome.

 

1: Crafting item designation and Crafting problems

 

The problem is that items i have in storage sometimes will not be recognized by the system as being there. Say I take the designation of " crafting table item" off of the crafting table and put it on a different storage container, like the tool box under it. I then place items manually that I feel go in the crafting tool box, items like abraxo cleaner, fission batteries, pilot lights and conductors, even dynamite. NONE of these Items will be seen by the system. Only when I physically take them out, and put them in the Crafting table container does the system see them, and let me craft with them. The system will also not see any items in the “HOMELESS MIC.” as items that I have to craft with. This does not happen to all items however, just certain ones

I have the Crafting table on “TAKE FROM ALL CONTIANERS" so I don’t know why it does this. This also happens with the Oven. I am not sure about the Ammo bench.

 

2: Exiting and reentering the house with the Crafting system

 

The other problem I have involved the crafting system and coming home. Say I have all the items I own in there default crafting containers, as in the crafting bench and the oven. If I load a save in the house, leave, and come back in, the system CAN NOT see any items available for crafting in storage. It is as if when I enter the house, the Crafting stations are no longer attached to the system, and I can only craft items in my inventory. Now if I save while this is happening, leave the game and turn the game back on, the problem goes away. If I leave the house and go wander around or do missions and things like that, and then return to the house after an Undetermined amount of time, the problem Also goes away, sometimes.

Changing what containers the bench can draw items from; from “ALL ITEM CONTAINERS” to “ONLY THIS CONTAINER” also sort of fixes the problem. I still cant get items from the oven, but what I have in storage in the bench I can use. No other settings does anything else other then this.

 

Sorry this is so long, but any help you can give me would really be appreciated.

Exactly the same problem here.

 

When I have Purified Water in my inventory and open crafting in the oven, I can see it as an available ingredient. However, when I put the Purified Water into other container (e.g. leftmost top locker under HI) and go to oven again, Purified Water is no longer available as an ingredient (it report 0/1 available for e.g. the Rushing Water recipe).

 

All crafting stations (workbench, oven, ammo) are set to "Take From All Containers".

 

Any help here? Is there some limitation to the sortomatic script itself? Or some bug in the Afterschool mod? Item count limitation, or whatever?

Pure guesswork here, but have you tried without "Take From All Containers"? That suggests to me that the crafting station is combining "dirty" with "pure" water from the different containers, giving you ... only "dirty" water. That seems to be supported by the last poster's results.

 

And, from the "AfterSchool" description:

Perishables: All items that can be ingested such as foods, water, Cola and meats are sorted with the Perishables option. Basically, anything that I felt like could "rot" goes into the refrigerator.

 

 

So your "pure" water probably "rotted" to "dirty" in that cabinet.

 

(It always pays to revisit the description, comments, and "readme" file when things don't work as expected. Most likely it's your expectations that are wrong.)
