I may be the only one to use it but I thought it would be nice/appropriate to have this thread in this forum. I'll be linking it from the Tag Search Improvement Initiative page.

Suggestions:

It would be nice if tags can be included as part of the standard search system. (via the big 'SEARCH' link). e.g. Add 'Filter on Tags' to the search page - clicking brings up a pop-up with the tag check-boxes.

It might be useful to allow exclusion of certain tags in searches. e.g. if the checkboxes where 'three state' (grey, checked, unchecked) then checked = filter on, grey = ignore, unchecked = exclude.

Questions:

What difference is there between the Game Optimization tag and the Performance Improver tag?

I agree with you completely, and I've started by tagging correctly (I think) my own mods. It's amazing no one has ever proposed something like this before, and it was about time someone did  I hope that the site admins are paying attention ;D

About the difference between those two tags, my guess is that the first one optimizes Oblivion's scripts, memory managing, etc. while the other tries to improve performance in different ways, like changing texture resolution, replacing meshes, etc. I may be wrong or perhaps it's the other way around, but that's my opinion.

Hey, nice to have you onboard. I was beginning to think nobody would show an interest.

Do you think I could prevail upon you to check/confirm/propose a few tags from the 'recently updated' list when you've got the time?

While I'm here I did have another question or two - are proposed (but not confirmed) tags included in tag searches? (I'd guess not, but you never know)

We have an on going discussion in the staff forums about this, rest assured that Dark0ne will check into this.

Progress!

I'm glad to say that in the three days since I started this 'promotion' there has been a marked improvement in use of tags. Looking at the mods updated on any particular day:

18th Dec - Twice as many mods with no confirmed tags as those with tags.

19th Dec - More mods with no confirmed tags than those with (but not x2)

20th Dec (so far) - Just a few more mods with no confirmed tags than those with.

If these trends continue then, with luck, there will be as many with confirmed tags as without for mods updated on the 21st.

Question: What's the difference between the "OBSE" tag and the "Requires - OBSE" tag?

Suggestion: What about a "Work in progress / Beta" tag?

Would UFF mods come under the same tag as TFF body base?

What about a "Work in progress / Beta" tag?
