Fallout3 CTD

Okay, after reinstaling everything on my laptop, I reinstalled Fallout 3. When i played it, and it got to the "slide show" intro, a purple slide came up, and then it froze. I reinstalled the game again, and now it just CTDs. I have done EVERYTHING the same as last time, because FO3 worked perfectley for me before. I haven't installed mods or changed anything.

Being as impatient as I am, I decided to try and fix it myself, to no avail.

 

Running it with FOSE doesn't work and neither does deleting save/fallout.ini/falloutprefs/render.info.

is you computer upto date drivers sound cards ect ? we need a bit more please

Yepp, they're all up to date.

what errors messages are you getting ?

 

do you have Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 and 2008 you need that to run fallout 3

No error messages, it just CTDs. OH! The bloody Microsoft thing! Something happened the first time I reistalled and it didnt install right! Then the second time, it never tried to install it! Ill google it, DL it and see if it works.

EDIT: By the way, Im running Vista and I have the Steam version of Fallout 3.

dose for me (link fixed missing a . heh ) hmmmm i would download the 2005 one frist then i think i will update it with newer ones like 2008

 

you may need Microsoft .NET Framework as well its all on that page :)

 

whats your os vista 32 or 64 allso you have all the system packs ?
