Ok, now we are getting some where, you have there quite a setup, and you are to know that you are not alone.

In a moment I should have the PDF for that rigs Main board here to read.

Of the search I conducted, I find many such problems with That TV set you have, it's not really meant to be used as a monitor but can.

  1. http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/287455-33-display-monitor-screen-help

read thru some of those thins and see if anything jumps out at you.

"There is a distinct possibility the card is not in the correct slot, there are times and boards that have what appears to be the same slots, but PCIe is always further away from others and closest to the main processor, PCI slots look alike but do not have direct GPU input or can but it's really crappy.

verify the card is in the correct slot please. 7800 series is not listed for that TV set. It's also a TV tuner card ? I have no idea what you have. how ever, all is not lost. 1rst check the things I said, then look for a standard VGA port on that TV, and there is also a standard VGA port on the main mother board. use the standard VGA graphics set up first and get the Operating system to recognize the hard ware.

I just bet you using the HDMI connections. Too soon. what's needed is a basic set up first and all software's installed for that, then upgrade it, add things to it, not before.

I had an LG TV with all the Goodies too, only it blew up from gaming too much, it was very picky with the PC's I hooked into it.

screen rez is a big problem in this industry.

edit: 3, DO you have or can obtain another monitor to test the PC with, because it looks like a hardware issue.

This could save you money too in the long run as if the hardware is having problems, that means eventually something gets burned up. Like My TV set got burnt out from My graphics intense programing.....LOL. well I play hard.

still looking.

i've used this tv with this pc for the last 3 years and never had any problems til i upgraded to windows 8:/ but, interestingly, that first link fixed another issue i was having so thank you! :D

I have the 7850, as far as i'm aware its not a tv tuner card.

when i switch to vga, im not getting any picture which is weird because i know fine this setup has worked on vga before :/

Don't have access to another monitor atm i'm afraid, i sold my spare ages ago

Ok lets compile what we know to be true before and is no longer the case, windows 8 is the key here.

  • The TV / VGA port worked before-----for 3 years time. now it does not and should.
  • windows seven the game ran fine and had no problems with this card? correct?
  • you did have HDMI installed and set up with the TV to use from the moment windows 8 was installed? correct?
  • you have a blank screen when reverting too VGA arrangement's, zero screen out put from the PC.

is this correct?

EDIT: awe nut's ! I totally forgot, the TV has a setting with the remote control to tell it what device to use, as an input. I am very sorry, I can't remember all the details of set configs, but, you need to still reset the system to VGA and then this time ,reset the TV to use the VGA as an input, not MDHI, or PC. or is it PC? I do not know.

Bottom line here is simple so very simple if the set and the PC start to talk to each other in a normal tone and not in High definition ! as in screeeeeeeaming at each other.

the Operating system will catch this and it will update the systems graphics drivers ,the drivers you still do not have installed, what you have installed are the updated drivers for HD and not standard drivers, this includes a script *.h files written for the TV tuner card ,the card I am speaking of is in the TV set, not your PC.

the operating system needs to talk to it so you can use other software built into windows 8.1, even windows 7 has it built in. our world is a media center and it revolves around Microsoft, Believe me, they seen this coming. we just don't know all of it. but the advertising does in fact show all of this, 8.1 is definitely made to run any TV set, but NOT in high def only after upgrading can you do that.

I just read a report on MS about all of this. simple and really easy to over look. I wish I knew when My set was working too. I blew it up because I don't watch adds.

correct ,before going back ,use fomm to check as before, and verify that card in the PC is detected, then and only then you can do what ever your heart desires, but the equipment needs to be set up right from day 1.

ok i'm looking around for options to switch to vga but i'm not seeing anything

on the screen in the TV sets set up screen, I am not there, and the PC is off line or cannot capture the TVs' screen, if you own a cell phone with capture ability, snap shot all the screen menus , upload those and link them in here so I can see what your looking at.

I sure wish there was a fly on the wall to tell me all that there is.....................
