bb89
I've been looking for a mod to change a character's appearance without creating a new character and starting all over again. Can't seem to find one, unless I'm just not looking hard enough. Has anyone come across something like this at all? My character is quite boring looking (created without any appearance mods) but I'd rather not start the game again and I doubt I'll play another character even when I do finish it (I take my sweet time; I roleplay). Maigrets
You don't need a mod to do this. I'm not even sue there is one. You can use the console while in the game. From one of my readme's: "You can make changes to the character while playing the game by going into the console (~) and type "showracemenu"Once you're happy with the changes, DO NOT click on the DONE button, instead, hit the ESC key to bring up the game menu and save the game. Then load up the save game. This is the safe way to exit the console without messing up your character's stats." Another helpful hint that works to get the textures right without blotchiness and other strange effects: "When creating your character it is also a good idea to Reset the face before making any adjustments, then move the complexion slider all the way from one side to the other and back to where you want it to be. This allows the game to get the correct texture. It works!
Megatarius
I change my characters all the time. I just make a new one right out of the old one. showracemenushowbirthsignmenushowclassmenu Then I drop all my items and fast travel somewhere and "begin". As for certain quests being done already, so what? I'm not the only adventurer in the land, right? I don't want to do them all over again anyway. This method is far superior to restarting from scratch, and even better than Arrive by Ship I think. Arrive by Ship gives you items you don't want and always puts you at a port city. Maybe my character wandered out of the woods or already lives in a nice castle and just hasn't ventured out in ages. I have never had my stats reset from using the race menu in the console. Only if you use the class menu in the console will your stats reset and go back to level 1. You can adjust the race menu as many times as you want without losing your level. Of course, always save first, but that should be obvious all the time.
