Change character name?

Is it possible to change your main character's name in a game already in progress?

you can edit one of your savegame .das files in the toolset and change it. just pick your last save, open the .das file in the toolset then click the + next to SAVEGAME_PLAYERCHAR, then the + next to SAVEGAME_PLAYERCHAR_CHAR, then find SAVEGAME_OBJECT NAME. you should see your character's name in the box on the right side just click to edit it, without removing those numbers next to it. then save, overwriting the file.

Hi, TheLopsidedCowboy, hope you're keeping well & healthy out there. There is actually a much easier method of renaming your main character while the game is in progress. There is this mod https://www.nexusmods.com/dragonage/mods/2058 that among many awesome things (if you're a fan of cheats :tongue:) will allow you to change your main character's name as well as the name of any character you happen to be controlling if you want.
