So how do I fix this? Theorietically I can install all the mods manually, but I would rather use the mod manager. Any ideas?

BTW I am running windows 7

You must be administrator... I don't know how exactly to do it...It's something like this- right click on fallout

folder/properties/security/your username/full control

Or: install fallout outside of c:program files (c:/games/fallout3)

Hmmm... Seems like I cant play the game because when I patched to 1.7 something called an "ordinal 5360" vanished. This is probably the source of my issues. I will re-install thanks for the help.

You need to install the latest version of Games For Windows Live to solve that particular problem.

Your other problem is due to you having installed Fallout 3 to the default location, which is protected from interference by Windows. The best solution (if you plan on using or even making mods) is to install Fallout 3 to a non-default location, such as C:\Games\Fallout 3. The whys is described here (yes, the article is on Oblivion and Vista, but it applies to Fallout 3 and W7).
