Might I ask where the decision as to which ending to take comes in? It's been ages since I've played the ending of New Vegas. Is that decision made during the final conversation with General Oliver? The decision is influenced by the final conversation with Oliver (obviuosly throwing him off the bridge makes it difficult to be warm and fuzzy with teh NCR), but i'ts made afterwards with Yesman.....at least for peeps that have installed the mod prior to the endgame. For those that played through the battle of hoover and have moved on long ago, it can be accessed by starting dialog with Yesman (at any time), whether in his mainframe form, securitron from or any securitron on the wireless network (which will result in yesman "loading" into the securitron your speaking with). It's clunky making the decision long after the courier has had many adventures, but probably better than a time/warp that throws the player back to moments after the battle. If the player refuses to make a choice (and until s/he does) it will probably default to the pro/friendly choice (NCR are still in the dam and on the strip), because that's what they currently are as default in the game.
