sogortheogre
I did a few google searches, couldn't find anything that related to my specific problem, though if it is around somewhere feel free to berate me. I downloaded OBMM and one mod; figured I would test it out before downloading anything else. I'm running Vista, and I am an administrator on my computer. I also ran the program as administrator, but whenever I attempt to activate the mod, I get the message: "An error occurred while activating the mod. It may not have been activated completely. Error: Could not load file or assembly 'dotnetscript, Version=0.0.0.0, Culture = Neutral, PublicKeyToken=null' or one of its dependencies. Failed to grant permission to execute. (Exception from HRESULT:0x80131418)" I checked the FAQ that came with OBMM but couldn't find anything in there about it either. So I figured here might be the next place to look. Anyone have an idea on what to do? Thanks,Sogor Side note: Originally posted in General Mod discussion, meant to put it here. Edit: Checked to make sure I had the right version of .net on my computer: OBMM requires .net v2.0, and I have 3.5, I should be good there, right? ptbptb
I don't suppose this is the problem ... but just in case, where have you installed Oblivion?
sogortheogre
I installed it in the default location, C:\Program Files (x86)\Bethesda\Oblivion
ptbptb
I installed it in the default location, C:\Program Files (x86)\Bethesda\Oblivion Well, don't. It should be probably installed somewhere like C:\Games\Oblivion I know you said you ran in Administrator mode, but I still think it's a likely cause of problems. sogortheogre
Mmk; I had wondered if this might have been the cause of my problems, and thought about re-installing it; I tend to get annoying messages when moving stuff around in program files. I'll see if this works.
sogortheogre
Nope, still running into the same problem.
ptbptb
Nope, still running into the same problem. I realize I missed a vital question - what was the mod? It's just possible that it's a mod specific error. Otherwise it would seem* to be down to a) security issues ('Trust' settings associated with .net??) or b) Mistake in the way OBMM was made., c) Problem in your .net installation. Seeing as OBMM works just fine for lots of people in Windows 7 / Vista I suspect b) is unlikely. Similarly I daresay you use .net with lots of other stuff with no problem so a) would seem to be the most likely but I haven't had to mess with it myself. * i.e. I've read a lot of pages linked from Google search results. sogortheogre
Hmm, I thought of the same thing; I looked for another mod to install via OBMM, but I ended up manually adding a few and playing hehe. The mod was DarNified UI 1.3.2. I'll see if a different mod comes to a successful result tomorrow.
bben46
Do you have the latest patch? v1.2.0124 Many mods will not work without it.
sogortheogre
Yeah, I made sure I had that patch.
